I think you did, Brendan!  Hope the little fella is okay!

He would have been worse if he had stayed. I say smart thinking by your little one Brendan, Wish I had that awareness at the start of a game, or a season for that matter.

Thanks for nothing cocko

The players were happy they won, but they certainly didn't go overboard about it.  I think someone mentioned earlier in the thread that they overheard Petracca say "4 points is 4 points, boys", so it's clear they know that they were well below their best.

I'll take it.  It was the worst game of football that I've seen in a long time, but we won.  Did we deserve it?  No, but then we deserved to win last week so it works both ways.

I'll let the others go with the negatives as there were plenty and I hate typing them out.

Positives - Jack Watts stood up for us today which was fantastic.  Stretch was good, after a poor first quarter and a half Vanders was a bit of X-Factor up forward, Petracca showed some flashes of brilliance, Brayshaw seems to be getting back to form and I thought our backline stood up well under pressure, especially considering how poorly we turned the ball over through the middle and up forward.

If we play like that next week Hawthorn will MURDER us, but consider this:

We now have 8 wins, 1 more than last year, and we still have 4 chances to build on it.  Let's hope we can.

Positive outlook & need to be ., talent is there.. Poor footy played but we forget GC are playing much better than they were last time, WC game would have impacted on them .. Not making excuses for poor footy but you can only for reasons... Comp is s lot more even than most think for middle to lower clubs on the ladder

Skip the bottle as well and just put your head in the dunny.

If you like seeing Watts (kick the winning goal) and Gawn play - then watch it. Otherwise, id avoid it. It was pretty bloody horrible footy.

To think we are fielding our almost best 22 and have no first round draft pick makes me wonder if we have improved. GC with there team are same strength as ours and with two first rounders this year are definitely still ahead of us

We need to learn and play a very different kind of football. That was offensive to the eye.

I feel as a criminal taking the points.

One of the worst games I have ever seen, Watts best and second best and third best.

Just a poor effort by our senior players and I can see some changes next week.

Don't care how many possessions he had, the skipper was terrible today, fortunately for him Bernie was a lot worse. WTF is going on with Hogan, he was really ineffectual today and he needs to work out if he wants to play with us or not.

Oscar was ok today and Frost shows a bit, he will get better.  Hunt gives it everything and Billy was one of our best.

We looked out of sorts today and as if we didn't want to be there.

I've had time to cool down and think about it.

1. Both teams played extremely disciplined defensive games.

2. The pressure from both teams was immense.

3. GC played the game on their terms, and we played into it.

4. Our disposals were deplorable, but we never gave up.

5. Dawes, Vince, Jones and Garlett really let us down today.

6. We worked out butts off to win that game, and did, but the hard work was almost for nothing because of a Vince brainfade.

I think the positive to come out of this is that we won that on the back of the young brigade. Petracca, Tyson, Hunt and Frost all lifted another gear in the last and kept us in it. Watts was a pest all day and may snag the three votes on the back of winning the game.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

Many warned that this was a danger game and the Demons were totally outclassed all game by a young Eagles team at Optus Stadium in Perth as they were defeated by 35 points.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
