GAMEDAY - Round 16

Geeze we've butchered some opportunities. Could almost have kicked 100 points.

Matt Jones has been dreadful.

The rest is pretty positive,

We certainly have, but it's great we are creating them.  I dare say that we would have converted them at a dry MCG and not in slippery NT.

It's a shame about Matt Jones - we works his socks off, but his disposal tonight has been shown up in these conditions.

For those that have a crack at our leaders that goal from N. Jones was all about leadership. Took it on himself and delivered.

That Pav free kick was very soft. Had it been a first year player it would have been play on.

Even when we're running all over them, disposal letting us down. Just so many of our players with questionable disposal and a real lack of footy smarts ... M Jones, Harmes, Hunt (OK, young), Kent (great with the goals in front of him, but too often turns it over), Grimes (of course), Petracca (OK, young) - there must be a few I'm missing as well.

I know a few here [censored] about Oscar Mac, but at least he usually hits his target. Speaking of which Mitch White looking good. Some footy smarts.

Carry on.

When was the last time we'd put a game out of reach at half time?  I know - careful not to jinx etc, but I can't see this game becoming more free flowing and high scoring as it goes on.  The players all looked stuffed.

Probably should be in front by more given our domination but hey if we continue on this path it'll be a very big win. I also suspect that if we continue getting these numbers the dockers just won't be able to hold us back.

No mercy Dees, kill their spirit in the 3rd quarter and go for the jugular!

Playing in Darwin is ridiculous. Players are out on their feet before half time. The humidity must be killer.

We are playing now okay-ish and controlling the game, which is great to see, but Its a terrible game to watch because of the conditions.

Need to come out and smash them early in the third quarter - the heat will inevitably kick and and then go out of the game after the first 10 mins IF we can again hit the scoreboard.

My only complaint currently is that we are not absolutely burying them.

    THE CAVALRY ARRIVES by Megg

The injury plague which has beset the Demons 2024 campaign is finally starting to dissipate and with consecutive wins over GWS Giants and a 2-point nail-biter in Adelade, a sense of optimism is rising.  Some commentators are now asking whether the Dees can make finals? A huge surprise with team selection this week when it was announced that champs Olivia Purcell, Paxy Paxman and Eden Zanker would play.   Hallelujah!  The cavalry has arrived. St Kilda missed the finals last season on pe

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.
