If that was the case the club would announce it, not 3rd and by an anonymous source on a fan forum!

Why would the club want to restart speculation and have negotiations take place under the media spotlight.  Because that is what GNF has done.

Its up to each of us to feel comfortable with certain posters "sources". Seen enough of GNF's work to feel comfortable.

I feel that we're getting to inception levels of horrible jokes here.

If you can believe that.

This goes against my core beliefs.

People believe what they want to believe.

Would you believe they tested the sewerage in Perth and found that Perthians consume about 3.5 times more meth than us normals on the East coast.

My post was about your comment of 'managing expectations', and I said the club would have done that if they wanted it known.

All GNF has done is throw a genade out there for the next 6 months without adding anything to what was already known.  Just watch every media outlet and journo ask Melbourne people every other day about Jesse's contract status.  Hardly the way the club would choose to 'manage expectations'.

Confirmed: Hogan has informed our club he intends to re-sign. Contract negotiations have begun and will probably be completed this year but could take up to 6 months.

you're one of the reasons I keep close to the site GNF. Love your work.

I've always thought he'd stay, because it just makes sense.  However, your assertion that it 'could' take 6 months is the comment that doesn't make sense.  There's no reason that I can fathom why it would take that long.

Odd indeed, the outcome of the new CBA maybe?

Surprising what having your knee slammed into a behind post can do!

By the way, GNF, you prob don't need me to remind you, but get ready for the s***storm likely to come after this post. And thanks for the info.

Was GNF not the bloke who said Roos was coming in 2013?

Yep, but also the one who posted the ridiculous puzzle about Dangerfield... that being said, love your work GNF!

Yep he was. He's got a couple of other big things right too, and also a couple wrong. He seems to offend certain people for some bizarre reason. No idea why people who think he's bullsh1tting don't simply ignore him.

He also said that Dion Prestia is a certainty this year. Although that rumour hasn't been proven false as of yet, it's getting there.

BIG CALL GNF. If it proves unfounded it will be the cyber-lynching of the century.

I heard from a very reliable source  that Roos was coming here a good four months before it happened and mentioned it here at the time. A few people were certain he was coming long before the fact for various reasons. I don't know what's happening with Hogan or TMac but remain skeptical just like I did with Scully and Frawley  As a fan I don't like it when players  put our fragile club  through  the ringer for their own ends.

Not quite. He said this, in May;

"If Dion chooses us as his preferred destination, he will end up a Dee. My understanding is Dion will choose us. Hogan will re-sign along with McDonald.  We are unlikely to lose regular 22 by choice. This is the firm belief of our club."

Not sure that's a lynching offence. Sounds like our interest in Prestia from previous years and earlier this year has cooled.

Boy, that was one belter of a week, regardless of the result.

Keep up the great work GNF! Been a keen follower since the Roos speculation days.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
