Four changes! Sif. If there are any more than two, including the one forced, I'll eat my hat.

It'll be Garlett for Vince, and possibly the next worst midfielder for Brayshaw - Bugg and vandenBerg front of the queue for mine. There is no hurry on Petracca while his fitness builds.

Brayshaw to play Vince's role across half back & through the middle. Move Vanders up the ground to play in Buggs role. Garlett to play forward rotating with VDB.

I don't think Wagner did too much wrong in his first game so not sure why there's calls for him to be dropped. Admittedly I was surprised he was picked last week, but he aquitted himself well.

We have no one else to play back up ruck so it's either frost or pedo. I'd give frost a continued run in the team, can't keep dropping guys after one game & then expect them to perform.

After round 2 I can't fathom why any supporter would want us to be clear favourites, ever. Clearly the players take the odds a bit too literally.

Ffs mate. We lost to the druggies. Don't expect 1 decent performance (which we lost) make us a quality side that should be outright favourites

After the North game and with Bernie being rubbed out I think there will be a few other changes as well.

Garlett will be and automatic inclusion if his ankle comes up. There could be strong arguments for Pedersen and ANB. Trengove will need a week or two after his knock to the head and not getting game time last weekend and I think Petracca will get another run at Casey before being considered.

I would keep Wagner and Stretch in for a second game.

While I am not a big fan of Frost, I would give him another week. I just don't like how/where they are playing him at the moment.

My team to play .....

B:  Jetta, T McDonald,  Wagner
HB:Lumumba, Dunn, Salem
C: vdB,Tyson, Oliver
HF: ANB, Watts,  Kennedy
F: Kent,  Hogan, Garlett
Foll: Gawn, N Jones, Viney
I/C : Stretch,Frost, Harmes, M Jones

Additional 3 named for the Sunday game: Grimes. Pedersen, Petracca
In: ANB, Garlett

Out:  Bugg, Vince

Assuming Garlett is fit, he comes in for Vince. If he's not fit, that spot goes to Brayshaw, but he has to be fit enough.

If Garlett is fit, then I'd consider bringing Brayshaw in for Bugg who, IMO, just isn't adding enough as a midfielder. But again, Brayshaw has to be fit.

I'd prefer Pedersen to Frost as the back-up ruck but I'm not sure there's much point to dropping Frost a second time after just one game.

Petracca needs at least another VFL game, if not for fitness then for getting that game-day touch back.

With Moore injured for Collingwood I see no need to bring OMac or Garland back into the side. Neither played well in the seniors so far this year so let them both find some form first.

2.45 on Crownbet.

Thanks Jumbo, will be definitely putting them in a multi. Also looking at taking Lions/Suns each way. Lions will be viewing this weeks game the same as Essendon did last week. I had a successful week last week after losing some ground during week 2.

With Vince out surely vandenBerg gets a decent run in the middle. He must still be having ankle issues otherwise completely crazy for Roos to leave him in the forward line all this time.

Played in the middle for a half v Port, and against GWS for a fair bit and looked very much like an out of place forward. He hasn't looked on his game since that 2nd half against Port way back when, so I think he might go out of the side this week.

I'm out - Jordan Spieth @ 3 bucks going to the final round looked a good bet to me....I unloaded.

Not so much on this page - but there's a lot of support for ANB to come into the team.  Can someone explain why?  I don't have a view on him either way - simply curious why so many are keen on him.

As for changes - suspect they'll be kept to a minimum - ie only changes will be based on what's happening with Garlett and Vince.

By all accounts ANB got a lot of the ball and was close to BOG

I hope there is a burning desire within the playing group to beat Collingwood this weekend and not a reliance on Pies playing poorly. Lesson's need to be learnt from the Essendon game.

Sadly our team appears to lack the mental strength to beat teams 'they should beat'

And that must stem from poor 'culture'

And that can only continue if those running the club allow it to

Roos said that (as I recall) several players took EssUndone too lightly - yet they were apparently forgiven......heads should roll if that sort of thing happens

I have. We should really win. But the Dons have been worse and losing to them, makes the rest of the comp see us as bloody ordinary.

I would be tempted to swap Frost for Pederson but let Frost play on that Moore character.

Cloke concerns me,  the opposition big guys have confidence against,  & look forward to playing the Deez.   Because we traditionally don't physically crunch them.

They look forward to playing us,  to get their mojo going.  And their stats up.

I'm not sure Dunny will get the job 'done', as it were.   So Frosty with his speed & height (can play tall),  may be needed for Cloke,  &/or Grundy venturing down there.  So I think Dunny can take Moore, or Oscar could take him.

Two changes to a side that almost got the job done against one of the in form teams. Wagner unlucky and honestly I won't be unhappy if he stays for this week, Bugg on his final chance to stamp himself in the side and Vanders possibly quite lucky as well.

Frost keeps his spot as well although our lack of ruck support is really concerning.

ANB suffering from low draft position bias? He is dominating at the level below and hasn't been thrown in. If he was a number 3 draft pick (ie. Petracca) getting 36 touches and 2 goals we would be beside ourselves demanding inclusion.

Nah, it's just that we've seen what he brings to the table at seniors level, a one paced accumulator, who always seems rushed. I'm not sure he'll ever be much more than depth, especially now we've seen how explosive Oliver is.

Can't beleive people are suggesting dropping Dunn.

seriously look at the impact Petrie and Brown had last week compared to the impact Daniher had the week before.

He is our backline general

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
