Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I love the criticism of Bail and Jones. Here are two blokes that have got the absolute best out of themselves and played AFL - unlike any of you clowns. And they are the least of out problems - they display an excellent attitude and willingness every time they play. The one thing we all hate - blokes not trying - is NEVER their crime.

This criticism is pathetic. You should be thinking about garland, dunn, nate jones, lamumba, dawes, howe - people with years on them and far more skill who regularly "don't turn up" get beaten by their opponents or have no impact on games. Who set the tone - or fail to - game after game after game.

Matt Jones and Ro Bail actually perform regardless of their dodgy "leaders"...they are let down only by a lack of natural skill.

Criticism of them is a low act. Get some effin perspective.

True. Bail was actually a key part in all 4 of our wins last year especially against Adelaide. Hasn't had a great year but I'm thankful for his service. I'm far more critical of the boys club you mentioned.

There's an open training session at Domain from 4-6pm, just not sure if it's today or Saturday, since the game is Sunday I'm guessing it's today but can anyone confirm? Thanks in advance.

It's today mate.

Hard to argue with any of this.

Still, it always adds the perspective that our list is way, way under skilled and until these blokes stop getting games, we'll remain a bottom club.

I actually am now looking forward to this match because we have got rid of a few of our flaws.

Firstly we have a left-footed defender playing in Salem which means we can play through the left wing with a bit more confidence - yes I know he played last week, but why he played the first half up forward is beyond belief - sorry that's a comment, not a negativity Roosy.

Secondly we have a back-up ruckman in Spencer which means if Gawny gets tired, it's not end game for us - we can compete with Sandi.

Thirdly the loss of Fyfe makes it pretty easy to figure out tagging matchups with Viney ideal for Neale and Vince ideal for Mundy.

Given it is Jonesy's 200th, I'd expect all our blokes to be up for the clash, so hopefully we are highly competitive for much of the match.

Is this a record?

John Ralph's tipped margin in the Hun is 136 points (and he can only find it in himself to go 88 for Tiges over Dons and 77 Hawks over Lions). Does anyone ever go triple figures in tipping??

Cummon Dees, rub his nose in it.

p.s. Bearing in mind the coaches recent comments, is JR perhaps a Melbourne supporter?

sorry: 134. I does him a disservice

It will be 4th week in a row we are at least 8 goals to 1 down. What a joy.

now at least Roos will have someone other than himself and the team to blame !!!

Jon Ralph is a pretty ordinary writer and I can't remember him breaking a single story earlier than anyone else. He's a lightweight, but he's in good company. There aren't many good football writers left.

I laid out a tenner on this as well. It might be all of the positive vibes that has got me feeling like we are a sneaky chance.

This is what you do to me Demonland. You have got my hopes up now.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
