Well FK me sideways...

A great effort and brilliant game by the dees. I am now currently baking humble pie for the Roos thread i created.

I am sorry Paul i wont question you again...

Go Dees!!

To all those supporters who sent Roosy an email last week after our loss against the Saints please send him a congratulatory email this week,

The negativity around this club, history of failure, blah blah blah is a curse we need to erase from grass roots up.

For me, the best part about this win (other then it being against the Filth) was that we played good, strong, team oriented football all day. Yeah there were a few silly errors but that's footy. Just like Round 1, against the Gold Coast, when they came at us we fought back and kept in front.

Great win, no AWESOME WIN!!!!!

Even though we were inaccurate in the last quarter, I thought we employed a deliberate and clever tactic to milk time off the clock. Jetta's charade of lining up for a goal then doing a sneaky pass to Jones was the best example of this. Vince and Garland took shots that were beyond their range in normal circumstances. We missed most of the shots but were able to lock the ball in our forward half for pretty much the whole quarter. I think the coaches should be commended for this if it was a deliberate tactic. Collingwood never looked likely.

We ate up about 2 minutes from the final 6 mins of the game doing that, I noticed it too. Was a great ploy if it was deliberate

How good was Dawes with the pivot and evading three players in the middle of the ground? Ol twinkle toes Dawesy. I hammered him this week but he was a solid citizen today. Hit his targets by foot which helps.

Watts had a great game which in some ways was a tease. His burst of speed over 20 metres is elite when he really decides to hit the gas.

Bernie won't get an AA nod because Melbourne, but he sure deserves one. Just an OUTSTANDING game.

Maxy Gawn is starting to get a profile across the league. Contested marking is becoming a weapon, just needs to build an understanding with the back six when he's back there,

Jonesy lead from the front as he always does.

Special mention to Nev Jetta. Won some crucial one on ones in the first half and was excellent for most of the day.

Jetta's hanger was a nice touch, as was his assist to Chunk in the last quarter.

Who'd of thought beating Collingwood could get any better?

Post game in the lift with mostly Melbourne fans. Stop at level 3 and in walks none othen Eddie Maguire. You could hear a pin drop. I asked him how the call went to which he replied " yeah! ". More silence followed before i replied geez i knew i should have taped press red for Ed! His reply.....Hhhmmm! ......Followed by more silence.

All is well in the world tonight!!!

Interestingly, Goodwin definitely took the half time huddle. Didn't notice who did the others, but I'd say Goodwin did. Still, it was a very Roos-like win. Edited by AdamFarr

He's only credited with 6 disposals, but I find that very hard to believe. He seemed to get a lot of it in the first half. Maybe he had a lot of involvements that didn't register as disposals or something?

I watched him closely in the first half. He has the worst defensive game of any player on our list.

It will be grossly unfair to dump Michie next week. He needs a run of games. Others have been granted that for just as much output.

Disagree. I saw him three times let his man run off him whilst he watched on and didn't even put up a jog. The penny hasn't dropped so he can go back to Casey til it does.

We won in the air, and in the centre.

Collingwood are more rooted than i thought.

Still want the umpires burnt.

The only frees we got were in the last quarter.

The reason we see frustration from supporters including myself like we have seen over recent weeks is because we now see some hope. Other years I went to the footy accepting to lose. Now aside from the top 4 our ability to get in a winning position is dependant on our intensity and our ability to stick to a plan and minimise our errors.

Today was another good step in the right direction. Gawn, Viney and Watts have all taken massive steps forward in the last 6 weeks. There will more frustrations week to week but I will not doubt at all that we have improved and more than the ladder will show.

Thought Hogan was great today. He seemed to pop up everywhere. Is he No1 in the Afl for contested marks yet!!? Surely after that game.

Second behind Hawkins as of last round. Both are credited with one this round according to the AFL stats, so that won't change. Cale Hooker needs 4 to overtake him.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
