I'm a huge fan. There's no pension collecting with this bloke, he improves us on and off the field. I think he should and will go round again and if others can push him out of the team we'll be a pretty damn good one.

Another huge Cross fan. If he manages to play every game this year he'll be on 39 club games and 249 AFL games. Would be nice to see him through to 250 AFL and 50 club games.

He's been huge since he arrived. Never appreciated the player he was at the Bulldogs.

Top guy on and off the field.

I think the Daniel Cross signing was very important to help fill the cultural void left by the James McDonald debacle.

Love the love for this bloke, there were some moment when I thought we could break (am a traumatised supporter) on Sunday and his couple of clutch marks really helped us maintain tempo and positive attitude. Very worthy of his spot on the DL Banner (which ios going to need some more work soon.

He was probably the best Dog on the field yesterday :P

One thing that impresses me about him is his contested marking ability. He doesn't look like the kind of player to hold those marks, yet he gets them every time. He's taken 8 this year (#55 in the league, #4 at Melbourne)

I was critical of him earlier in the year but it is obvious we have developed him since he arrived .

Great development MFC.

I feel like Daniel Cross is giving us those 2/3 years we never got when we delisted our last great captain James McDonald? Thoughts?

Thought the exact same thing when reding a post above re him being our most important signing. Without Cross I have no doubt we would be an absolute rabble. Every week he, along with N Jones, show the rest of the team what it is to get every ounce of ability out on the park.

The amount of intercept marks he took on that backline yesterday was reminiscent of Rivers in his pomp..

that brought back some memories :)

daniel also played highest game time % (95%) equal with tmac

not bad for a 32yo veteran

TOG is one of my favourite stats. 85-90% is top shelf for a mid, 95% is brutal. Suggest Cross would have been sore but satisfied yesterday.

Cross is usually around 90% most weeks, the man is a machine.

Looking forward to seeing this bloke pull on the red and blue next year.

Having a much better year this year then last.

I wonder if we can get another year out of him so far so good

I think not a matter of IF, we have to.

we need senior players, that our kids have to hurdle over, to take games off them. Crossy has to go again.

when this starts to happen, we'll be on our way, & Crossy can take a breather.

we've still a lotta calves.

His intercept marking is elite. And every time he does it, some bell end commentator sounds suprised. He does it week in, week out. If he is still playing like this rounds 17-22, he 100% should go around again.

I've never realised what a great contested mark Cross is. Would love to see him sign on for another year and reach 50 club games and 250 AFL games

It's frightening to think what we'd be like without Cross. He's the guy who always gives 100%, takes responsibility and often gets us out of trouble by taking that contested mark on the last line of defence.

Takes a good grab because when marking overhead, he pulls the ball down to his chest as quick as he can; almost snatches it.

Doesn't give opponents the chance to punch it out.

Cross was fantastic today. When he has the ball, you are confident that he will use it well. Massive respect for this bloke. Agree to have him go around again.

Was a legend at the doggies and quickly becoming one at the dees

Has been invaluable this year and the last

we don't have enough senior leaders yet, to lose Crossy; he & Nat Jones, & after that there isn't a lot, just yet.. they're all kids, & they need mature 'real leaders' who have a crack around them.

when I think of it, I would give him a 2 year contract, front ended... when he doesn't make the side every week he'll lead the way at Casey in his last season. it will be money well spent.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
