If he is correct we got shafted.

Couldn't agree more Redleg

Perhaps I am cynical, but that suggest there may be a side deal ...

Lets see how many appearances he makes on the Footy show for 10k a pop.

Will be on there for no other reason than he plays for Collingwood.

well i wouldn't have too much faith in the hun's quoted contract value

i'm sure whoever leaked it to the hun had their agenda

like every other figure that's been quoted by the media over the last couple of months including what we supposedly offered

I have little doubt it's right. We didn't rate or want him.

so you think we offered him more than the filth did? or didn't you read the post i responded to?

I reckon we offered him less than $300K, which is what I've already stated on this thread.

What are you on about ?

One passage of play in Howey's last game summed up his entire time at Melbourne (as Daniel Cross' last possession summed up his).

He took an amazing hanger on the half back flank that got the entire crowd out of their seats. He then proceeded to kick a dinky centering kick that was killed by the GWS forwards and ultimately resulted in a goal to the opposition.

I'm not one of these posters who acts like one of those wives who hurl insults towards their exes like 'You're a child molester too!' I haven't blamed people for leaving the club (except Scully and that was more about his honesty than the actual decision to move).

With Jeremy, I wish him all the best. We got something for him in the end unlike blokes such as Beamer and Riv. I'm not sure he left the club disgusted like so many have. It was more a case of him thinking he was worth more than the club thought he was (or some frustration regarding where he was being played).

That being said, I don't think he will be a huge loss. A loss yes but not one that can't be covered. I am not sure his deficiencies will be fixed at Collingwood to be entirely honest....

100 games for the club, thanks Jeremy (seriously).

Was floored by the Isaac Smith/Jack Gunston stuff earlier - not fast or a good enough kick.

Reckon if Howe embraced the backline he would have been offered a contract by the club. Guy has one really good skill: judging the ball. Put on 10kg and could be Josh Gibson.

He'll be in the Pies backline by rd 10.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if he kicks 40-50 goals next year.

He is capable of doing it.

I have no qualms in moving him on though. He wanted to leave for starters, but more than that, he's a selfish player. A selfish player who doesn't want to be here we are clearly better off without.

But he does have talent that we didn't see the best of under Roos.

Good luck to him at the filth. You could argue he was forced out the door but his demeanour all this year and Collingwood press conference suggests he wanted out.

Wish him well, we need to move on and find that winning formula without him.

Howe, Toumpas and 32 for Kennedy, 29 and 50

Welldone MFC

You do realise that we didn't have ND32? That was Adelaide's pick.

We gave up only Howe and Toumpas.

In the Hun: "JEREMY Howe has sacrificed money to fulfil his childhood dream of playing for Collingwood "

So he was a mole all the time! Now he's exposed, the only safe haven is the Scumbag Centre, where he will he harboured, but never trusted.

Interesting to see where Howe plays in the Collingwood.

I was a bit disappointed, with his athletic ability and fairly good foot skills thought he would be better played on the wing. I think they tried that at the end of last year.

this is the stuff that makes me angry as a member.

Happy to get paid using my membership money but will fcuk off at the earliest opportunity for less money dry rooting the MFC as he walks out the door...

Players like this need to be sent to the draft otherwise this dilema will only get worse.

See you on QB K Hunt...

Howe= One trick pony cashing in on it while he can.

Toumpas = A deer in the headlights anywhere near the ball.

Howe - Hardly cashing in if the contract is $350k and GC and NM supposedly offered him more.

Toumpas - spot on

'Farewell'. Yeah, that's one way of saying it. Wouldn't be my chosen words. Glad he's finally gone though. Have been asking for it since 2013.

This is the way of the world these days SWYL........Players are only loyal while they have a contract.

All clubs and players will do what is right for them.....It's a me me me me world these days.

I don't blame them....It's just the way it is.

Was always one of the first to go missing when the heat was on. I'll miss his freakish marking ability, but that's about it.

I suppose we can still enjoy his marks. Hopefully enjoy his turnovers even more when we play the Pie's.

I loved having Howe at the club, loved his high marking and I reckon he was a genuine footballer who could read the ball in the air like Modra and Ablett.

I hope his career goes OK at the Pies but I personally believe they have massively overrated him if they think he can get anywhere near the output of Isaac Smith. As a running player he actually has some skill so should be an above average wingman but his inconsistency was frightening.

Paul Roos has been saying for 2 years that the gap between our best and worst is too big and he as coach is working furiously at narrowing our best/worst down to a more trustworthy margin. Howe is symptomatic example of the gap between our worst and best and maybe that is why he is being let go. Same with Toumpas. They could both produce sublime football immediately followed by weak attempts that made them look disinterested or unable to think on thei feet.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
