Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Yeah.... but what about when we win? I friggin love this place after a win.

Thursday can go one of two ways - a victory that will give the optimists a hard on and the pessimists a meagre smile, or a loss that will give the pessimists what they want and the optimists will just claim it's NAB Challenge and it will be all good once the real stuff starts.

May the football gods look down on us and protect thou who wear the red and blue.

Not but seriously looking forward to seeing Lumumba, Garlett, Hogan, hope Brayshaw gets a start but more importantly no injuries.

After we lose wait for the wrist slashing on the site!

I expect to lose but not because we are bad, I have been told by a few in the know they are flying and as opposed to last season Freo are hoping to hit the season proper in similar fashion to the way Hawthorn started last season with a view of rotating and freshening up some players mid season and hit the end of the season like 2013 fresh and ready for a big tilt.

Taking that into account with their focus being on Round 1 I expect them to be making some early statements. Very good test for our boys

I expect Hogan to be reported as wishing to come home by local media whether he fires or not.

I expect Freo to come out soft for this early game as they have repeatedly been 2 games stuffed by end of September.

I reckon we might be up and about.

The aim of NAB matches is for teams to work on their structures &game plans and implement some of the plays they have been working on. It's a time for coaches to experiment to get some sense of how far the boys have progressed and likely line-up for the early matches. I am looking to see improvment as well as future potential. Do we have greater depth, is our ball movement quicker, do we have a forward line that can kick goals A win is a bonus but really the NAB must be seen for what it is. And I always hope like hell we get no serious injuries.

If you offered me a 8 goal loss BUT no injuries right now, I'd consider taking it. An 8 goal win but ONE random injury? Probably not.

The Dogs may have beaten Richmond on the scoreboard, but they were the massive losers over the weekend.

Let's hope we can get out of Perth unscathed. We've had some pretty bad luck in recent years (Jurrah's shoulder, Morton going down when he was good, Hogan, Petracca already this year...)

I'll be heading down on Thursday to watch us absolutely pants this bunch of floggers. I hold the Fremantle footy club in as much contempt as the Pies. I reckon we'll go well and shock the football public with a dominant 10 goal win.

But realistically, I'd be happy if we can show some attacking footy, clean disposal and real pressure tackling. More of last years defensively minded rubbish will be a major disappointment.

The team are also having a short 1 hour training run at Fremantle oval on Wednesday which I'll sneak down to as its only 20 minutes from the office. It there's anything worth reporting I'll jot some notes for my fellow desperadoes.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
