I think Nev might need to sustain his improvement for another year or two before we start using him as the model for other players to aspire to. One season does not make a career.

I think what Viney needs to do is learn to get an easy ball.

He is always in the thick of the action but also needs to find space more and get lots more uncontested stuff.

Bernie Vince is the perfect balance of both hardball gets and uncontested linking in space.

I agree on both counts. I reckon viney fly's under the radar on DL in terms of avoiding criticism - perhaps because everyone loves his spirit and hard at it grunt (as do I). But he didn't have a great year (which is OK, he's only young). Really needs to improve his kicking.

People seem to love comparing the toumps progress with wines. Few seem to measure viney against wines. At this stage he is a fair way behind

He wasn't saying its one or the other, the best players can find the ball in close but also link with other midfielders and distribute on the outside. Viney is a bit one-dimensional in that regard. It's not about completely transforming his style of play, it's about adding more strings to his bow.

Two players that I think will improve dramatically in 2015, Jimmy Toumpas and Jack Viney. Viney to me was very underwhelming in 2014 tried hard but just thought he had a very average year. The Toump, if anyone watch early preseason last year he was flying he just needs a massive dose of confidence. He has the ability and the tools, just needs the belief.

Viney struggled because he is the 4th or 5th best mid as a 20 year old.

He is asked to do too much at the minute due to our compromised midfield.

That we haven't delisted him by now possibly might indicate we are still interested in him some what. Maybe we are going to wait until the break is over and see what condition he comes back in. Then again he could just as easily be delisted tomorrow so time will tell.

Which is why it wont be him. He's always been a hard worker. He's had lots of games to get up to speed at the level and I doubt he's in for a position change. I really like Bail. Despite a number of shockers he also played some really solid games this year and in a better team he's positives would stand out more and his negatives be covered. But I don't see him taking a leap.

Unfortunately, we need it to be a number of blokes, mate. I'd say they're just about top of the tree, but gee it'd be handy to have two or three of the mids show the improvement that Jetta has shown.

The way the club seems to be backing him, I wouldn't be surprised if he comes out next year and really starts to impact games. It'll be about whether he can accumulate enough of the ball. His disposal shouldn't be in question.

Need it to be Watts. He needs to learn to keep his feet and make more convincing defensive efforts, also not being outbodied by the likes of Bennel in marking contests would help.

It's a shame, with his skill set, if he could somehow develop a bit of mongrel he would be elite!

Kent already is important. He had a delayed start to preseason, injury and suspension that cost him momentum at the start of the year but he's clearly best 22 on talent and for where the side is at for results as well. Garlett's being brought in more as a crumber/goal sneak forward. JKH is in the side for his forward pressure and ability to find the ball as well. But Kent remains a vital part of the forward and (hopefully increasing) midfield mix as he can do a lot of really good things. He's an explosive player and I hope he gets trialled up the ground more next year. He wouldn't really be 'the next Jetta' though because his career has tracked well so far. He can be most improved and it would be an extremely welcomed surprise to have a player develop properly and efficiently, so I hope he is.
