With everything going on at the Suns this year, and the fact that they suck big time aswell, I think this off season is a great time to get into the ears of a few of their young guns who DO have their heads screwed on ! Blokes like Prestia, Swallow and Tom lLynch. Maybe even Jagaer Bomb !! As we saw last off season contracts don't stand for much anymore so if we can get talking to the agents and offer some big bucks maybe we could get one of these young yet still quality players.

Mckenzie in for Jetta - We know Jordie can lock down on players, he creates contests and wins his own ball. I think his skill set would be more effective in the big league then anything Grimes or Toupas would offer at this stage. Bail in for Kent - Bail work his arse off and can find space as a half forward and will chase all day, which is the role Kent was playing. Again I feel Bail offers more at AFL level then the other guys we have in reserve.

FMD, anyone with any kind of skill at football would look great with it being feed to them on a "platter". But that isn't what footy is about. The best teams actually don't have players who only rely on getting fed the ball by their teammates, sure some players recieve handballs or kicks in space more then others, but they all have the ability to win there own ball and win 1 on 1s and tackle someone hard. That's what footy is about and that's what makes a good footballer and a good football team, having 22 COMPETITORS who all have the necessary skills in terms of ball use and marking ect. From what I have seen, Watts has some great skills with the ball in hand, and I have heard he is pretty fast although I have not seen that, unfortunately that isn't enough to be a good footballer.I do hope he turns it around !!

Has Lumumba been training in the midfield group or defensive group ? Keep on hearing that he has been doing stoppage work with the midfielders, perhaps a midfield role for him next year ?

A footballer is a footballer mate, he can play the game pretty bloody well. People put too much emphasis on being tall and strong and athletic, sure they are all great attributes, but you can 100% succeed without them, and I think Caleb Daniel will.

No, unless we get a decent tall goalkicker then I think we will seriously struggle to kick winning scores. I'm not letting the promise in the off season get me again !! I only see us winning 6 to 7 games but who knows really.

Who cares if he impedes game time for young mids, if they want to get a game then they will need to earn it. Sewell sits comfortably in our 22 and would make our young players earn their spots whilst also making us a better team. Would love to have him at Melbourne.

Just because he might not want to leave Adelaide doesn't mean he would want to stay if they accepted to trade him.Imagine if your girlfriend told you she was dumping for you for another guy, your not going to stick around knowing that she wants to be with some other bloke. If Adelaide accept the offer then why would he want to stay there knowing that they have decided to go on without him ? Plus we would offer him an anus load of $$$ !!

That is a good point, but we aren't sure if the Danger rumours are true, although they could be and if they are then you've got me beat on this one. I guess the way I am looking at it is that if Danger doesn't say he wants to go anywhere then what would we have to offer to make Adelaide accept the trade ?

Posted this in another thread aswell, my thoughts on a trade. Don't think we are going to get Danger, but if I was in charge I would go with something like this: Pick 2 and 3 plus Toump for Danger, pick 10 and 3rd rounder We could then trade pick 10 plus Watts to Sydney for Mitchell and their 1st or 2nd rounder. Ahh I can only dream !!

Fair enough but the difference with that is Judd had said he wanted to go Carlton so Westcoast were almost forced to accept the deal, which isn't really a bad one but in terms of Judds quality at the time they probably felt they could have got more from sides with better picks to trade with (if there were any at the time)

Toumpas is not a draft pick and nor is any other AFL listed player. Just like every other player they need to be rated on there performances and what they look to be able to deliver. The fact that Toumpas was a high pick means nothing now and what he has shown on the field has been average at the very best. Injurys and playing in a crummy team and blah blah blah, he hasn't delivered in the AFL. And in my opinion he does not have the power or speed to be a high quality player in the future. Therefore I believe the trade I proposed is decent for both parties if Adelaide wanted to trade Danger.
