Hardly a loss for them'

Cant even crack 20 possessions per game in his 5th season, doesn't kick goals, does zero damage

So glad he left

I was just thinking the same thing, dd36

Privacy laws prevent me from divulging the identity of the poster but Dazzle ... he's a regular helper at our inter forum games.

Also very rich because those money bags contained a lot of $100 & $50 notes :)

I actually think he is an ok footballer, but he is developing very slowly and would probably not be in our starting 22 if still with us. But the way he left the Dees... will never forget him.

But with his season ending surgery I am now disappointed that my eldest daughter and I will now miss our annual "Booing Tom Scully Game" which has become such a favourite. I know it sounds petty but I cannot tell you how much I enjoy booing this bloke every time he is near the ball.

The best was the guy who use to sit near me in the southern stand who had the money pinned to his jacket and security tried to remove from the ground (iirc)

$1M per season.

Think of the players in that bandwidth.

He's getting paid more than Nate Fyfe.

Actually it's $1.2m per season, with $100k going to his father, a genius recruiter, who before GWS was earning about $5k per year as a part timer with the Swans.

All part of the cunning devious plot by the Scully's and Richmond first implemented when we drafted him to eventually get him to his spiritual home at the Tigers. I'm sure GWS are getting to the stage where they would desperatly love to offload him. The Scully plan is to devalue boy wonder so much that he becomes a free set of steak knives. :)

Seriously everyone its time to get over it and move on. Three years is enough!

He is not the first guy to leave for money and damn well won't be the last.

Anyone who gets paid to do anything and then gets an offer to do it somewhere else for a lot more money would take it. The kid took hold of the greatest opportunity a 20 year old would ever get and good luck to him. Anyone who says they wouldn't do the same is lying to them selves.

Three years is enough? Let me think. Ummmmmmmm......no.

Let's never forget that the AFL green lighted the snagging of our number one draft pick at a time where we were absolutely on our knees. Far worse than the position we are in now. This included the side deal including Phat Phil that was only rectified when the Afl were caught out and the corresponding shooting off by Sheedy.

Don't expect me to take a rational position because I cannot. I hate what was happening to us and, by extension, I hope he is not successful. Call it tribalism.

Has there been a more reviled character at our club? If so I would like to know who it is.

Hope all the $$$ have been worth it Tom.

Did Rolf Harris play for Melbourne?

Yeah his 8 kicks per game are really damaging...

I don't sneer at Tom Scully so much as I do at Kevin Sheedy.
I remember that clown making jokes about taking Jack Viney off us on top of Scully.

Media types used to fawn over him about him being the 'cunning old fox' and some kind of eccentric genius. His two contributions to GWS (Scully and Izzy Folau) were akin to taking a big pile of money, putting it in a barrel and setting it on fire.

I am a little bit put off about Buddy going to Sydney (they would have been good without him) but one thing that did make me smile was that silly old goat turning up at the 2013 GF wearing his Giants scarf, content in the fact that his tin pot organization was going to poach Franklin. You could just tell that he was trying to set up some hokey photo op with himself and Buddy as he got his GF medal. I wish there were some cameras on him when the news was announced that Buddy wanted nothing to do with him or his team

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
