IF St Kilda tell us privately they're taking McCartin... well.... not many could argue against getting both Petracca and Brayshaw.

BUT... it's hard not to burned by the past. Watts, Scully, Trenners, the list goes on. All our early draft picks haven't come close to the likes of Hodge, Roughead... even late picks like Fyfe. I know we have the right development coaches in place, finally... but with 18 year olds you need time for them to develop. Salem will be twice the player he was this year in 2016. We won't see the full potential of Brayshaw/Petracca until 2018/2019, and Roos isn't patient enough for that. His ego won't allow him to leave this list for Goodwin in the bottom 4.

I can see pick 3 being packaged with pick 12 for a gun midfielder, and pick 2 reserved for Brayshaw. By all accounts Roos is very keen on the kid, and has been mentoring him throughout the year.

I agree that Roos is likely to draft Brayshaw but l don't agree that neither him or Petracca are going to impact before 2018/2019; just look at Ollie Wines in his first two years! Also, whilst you have acknowledged that Salem will be twice the player next year than he was this year, the same can be said of Toumpas ( plus we are still to showcase Hogan )! I am hopeful that we can get both Brayshaw and Petracca and l am similarly sure that, by the end of the Trade Period and the Drafts, Roos will have the basis assembled for an effective and structurally sound team!

Two words... All Class!

It is seriously insane how this kid can kick and hit targets lace out with both sides of his feet. I am still yet to work out what his preferred foot is??

He combines a skill of silk, inside grunt work and strong overhead marking. Pick 2 or 3 either way we will have a beauty here and can't wait to see him run out next year.

Time to get the ball rolling again with this one!

I am so thankful for these newer highlights.. the old ones had him looking like a spud (first 7ish disposals were to no1 or a turnover from that old clip)! This is all lace out stuff which is nice to know he can actually do that. Much happier at the thought of drafting him.

Agreed makes you wonder who the hell made those other ones.

In fact all original highlights really are pretty ordinary and most of the draftees that are expected to go top end.

I can see Roos using him off half back next year if we pick him up. Vlastuin was impressive in his first two years in that role for Richmond. I think Brayshaw has the same strong body and combative approach that should allow him to survive from day one. His kicking is better than Vlastuin it seems and even though he would be a first year player, he may help alleviate a deficiency if he can give us that Malceski type player until he develops into Tyson's best mate in the middle.

There is a lot to like there. Can see why people want him at the Dees. Image if Brayshaw AND Petracca slip to us?! We finally have the staff to develop players, these guys could be a big part of our future if we get them.

I understand what your saying but jeez I seriously reckon he wouldn't look out of place come round one standing next to Dom Tyson.

Just remember he will add mkre size to his frame come round 1. I can see him making a impact straight away like Luke Dunstan and Ollie Wines.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
