I think it's just demon supporters glass half fulling the situation a little bit, having Roosy for three years is massive and his influence after that will be nearly as big, so i'm not at all concerned, if he gets the successor right there is no reason he can't be just as good.

He's hosing down expectations, but if we're within reach of a premiership at the end of 2016 I think he'll find it hard to resist having a go.

If Roosy stays on in some other capacity after the 3 years, then it makes me believe the likes on George Stone will stay on as well. He shouldn't be forgotten as an integral part of the coaching group.

there is no actual announcement of this though is there.. so no confirmation.. just a mid season IV on the website.

Written from Matt Burgan from the inner sanctum of the club.

If you also listen to the newly uploaded Roos interview (with Burgan) you will hear him mention a three year tenure.

I think it's as safe as houses.

EDIT: It also ties in very nicely with "Grand New Flag's" recent intel (cheers mate)

Roos did his best to kill this line of questioning at the post match interview last week. I tend to think he wont commit until he is sure he has long term buy in from the players and that we are a realistic top 4 prospect come third year. Does not look like the type to hang around just for the money. He wants premierships. He must be very encouraged by the amount of progress his team has made so far though.

I mentioned this was what was happening on the Hogan thread last week and a couple of people on hear got stuck into me for making up rumours?!!??!?! Those people should apologise.

I will say one more thing. Don't be surprised if Roos remains as coach beyond this contract........

I love you. Definitely one of my favourite posters. : D

Roos knows about the value of stability and how to get the press off his back. They have been hounding him on this story and so he has come out with a statement that will essentially end the speculation.

I agree similarly the Tyson/Kelly comparisons - he successfully nipped it in the bud by saying we wouldn't have taken Kelly with pick 2 anyway; now the morons like Barett, Hutchy etc have no ammo to fuel their stories. Barrett tried to keep the story alive in that interview "just out of interest Roosy, who would you have taken?" But Roosy just shot him down refusing to give him an answer.

I also posted that the day after our AGM, after PJ told me that he was confident that 3 would be the minimum. I am not as confident about him going longer though, unless the replacement can't be locked in. He seems prepared to take on another role after 3 years, probably as the Coach's mentor.

As with all Demonlanders I would love to see him change his mind and commit to say 5 years, it would do wonders for our stability.

so this hasnt been confirmed at all

Just heard Roo's himself on the radio state 3 years as coach then stay at the club in "some capacity," obviously stating not a coaching role

I can live with three Redleg After the last six three seems like an eternity.

By the end of 2016 will be established with a good list and looking to push higher into the top eight.

This is how I look at it. By the end of 2016 there is every chance we'll be giving things a real crack. Will he just hand over at that point? It would seem unlikely, to me.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
