What a week! I got the all clear from my kidney doctor… kidney function back and dialysis no longer a threat. I sold our house for a profit, which is unheard of in rural France. And, if you hadn’t already heard, MY TEAM WON THE PREMIERSHIP!31 points

I wanted to say a massive thank you to Mark "Choco" Williams for coming to the Melbourne Football Club. Apparently he said something pretty inspiring to Christian Petracca while he was on the bench when the Grand Final was in the balance. This assisted with turning things around very quickly in the Demons favour. Mark "Choco" Williams has probably been the recruit of the year for the Melbourne Football Club. I cannot sing his praises any higher. I hope that the Melbourne Football Club sign him on for a few more years. He has made a massive impact on our playing group. To think a few years ago no AFL club wanted Mark "Choco" Williams around. He has definitely proved them all wrong! What a legend!27 points

Mine is. I can actually say in the open air that I've seen my team win a bloody premiership! 🔴🔵 Seeing the Richmond and Hawthorn just cruise on through to win flags I just wanted to experience just one in my life time. Still on an incredibly high!18 points

I've gone ballz deep - been saving since I was born in 1964! - Framed signed premiership jumper, - GF style caps and numerous other style caps - HS posters - foil edition, limited number edition and several basic editions - beanies, scarves, stubbie holder, t shirts - car stickers - probably get the GF number plates too. Stuff it, I've earned it!18 points

I was in shock for the last 35 mins, covering the last bit of the 3rd and the 4th quarter. I guess I never knew what it be like to win one and it must have been years of scarring but I didn’t think we’d actually won it till we went 50 odd points up( might have been Frittas 5th) Id always expected tears on the realisation I would see it, but I didn’t. Two friends of Krystal Petrevski were sitting in front of me and we were high fiving every goal. They told me they were new supporters because of Krystal, they both had her #31 on and during the game I explained the significance of the number to Demon supporters b When the siren went and I started to sing the song that’s when the emotion hit and the tears flowed, one of the girls turned to high five me and it was like an acknowledgment of ‘ this is what it means to be a long suffering supporter” she just said congratulations mate you look like you earned this, you enjoy it. It was a great moment16 points

I'm pretty sure someone already beat me to the punch, but here's our blistering end to the third quarter featuring seven different commentary tracks! I already have a couple more Multi-Call moments already in mind, but please don't hesitate to list any requests!15 points

It’s a bit like winning a long distance race because you ran the furthest, even though it took you 5 days - while the Ethiopian bloke did a kilometre less, but in 90 minutes.15 points

I wish I had something more meaningful to contribute to this wonderful thread but I'm still a bit stunned and lost for words. After the Prelim win, I lamented only half-jokingly to friends that we'd produced our best a week early. Things ran hot and we were scintillating. To back it up in the GF with what many are calling the most devastating 45 minutes of footy in finals history beggars belief. We could win the next 10 flags but we're unlikely to see anything like that ever again.15 points

Thank you vanders. Wish you had got a straight crack at it sans the foot injuries. Loved your 2018 final series.14 points

Having gathered my thoughts I just want to say to our Immortals and us Demonland supporters. We are the Champions my friend, they kept on fighting until the end, we are the champions, we are the Champions my friends.!!!!!! ps( today is my 76th birthday but I celebrated it early, how bloody good was that) 💕💙❤️14 points

Did anyone else find that because of the way we won (onslaught of goals in the end) they never really had a big rush of emotion when we won? Hard to explain, I just never had the cascade of tears that I was expecting.14 points

Not that it matters that much, but this award has to be meaningless, considering that some players have more games to play in. MacRae beat Tracc by 2 votes after playing in 4 games, compared to Tracc’s 3 games. Surely you would weight the votes, if you wanted the award to stand for something.13 points

As far as I can gather the fastest ever individual goal from a center bounce was 6 seconds when Riewoldt was awarded a 50m prior to the first bounce! The instant and completely uninterrupted breakaway goals from a center bounce seem to range around 9 to 15 seconds. I assume that it has happened before at some point but even so, it would require both to be right at the pointy end of that scale when you consider there is always a couple of seconds after a goal before the all-clear and time stopping. If there have been faster runs of three goals, it could only be by a few seconds. With another odd goalkicking record in mind now - Tom McDonald must be the first person ever to kick a goal after the siren in a grand final from 45 meters out while 15 other guys were in a dry-humping pile about 5 meters to his left!13 points

I have autism, so some things I can get fixated on more than others. This year from the first gws game I thought we would win it all. I drove back from Canberra to Albury with my son crying the whole way because I was so happy and excited about what might happen. I have spent so many tears in the last two weeks. Winning is such a relief. I'm so happy I could burst. I can stop now and give my partner a bit of space. It's hard to explain13 points

23 pressure acts and 3 tackles inside 50. Didn't get lucky with kicking goals himself, but his pressure and intent was what a Grand Final is all about for mine.13 points

I read through that game day thread on the WOOF web site and just reading their comments on "that 10 minutes" gave me chills all over again. From hope, confidence, belief, to shell shock and trauma. On Sunday I read through some neutral clubs' game day threads and their post match comments. They weren't shell shocked but they were awed, amazed, impressed, and frightened by what they saw. Shock and awe. Each GF has its story. Some that come to mind ... 1970: handball handball handball. 2005: whosit's game saving mark in the last minute. 2010: but for one crazy bounce of the ball ... I think the "story" of 2021's GF, when people talk about it at the pub or whatever, will be ... oh yeah, that was the one where the Demons exploded and blew the Dogs off the park in 10 minutes of devastating football. "That 10 minutes." How fitting. We played like Demons and put the Dogs through hell. Supporters of all clubs will remember this game, and "those 10 minutes", always.13 points

Bont was bloody lucky for mine ! Have a look at the replay and watch Bont - no eyes on the ball - he is lining Oliver up.12 points

Vanders - lovely bloke, tough player. Very unlucky with injury. Wish him well.11 points

I don't see why reportable offences should be overlooked just because we won. Seemed clear to me that #4 hit his neck, not his shoulder and no question he intended to bump. I wonder what those downplaying this would say if Clarry couldn't play on and we lost the match. As for Gawn, the players may well be mocking him - who could resist?, but I can't see how anyone could bang their head into the ground like he did just to play things up. His head clealry moved too fast into the ground. Maybe his arms waved about unnecessarily, but look at the replay. Where did the momentum for his head hitting the ground come from other than from the tackle?11 points

I have no ill feelings towards Dogs fans and I generally like most of their players (few exceptions). I thought Bont was very gracious in defeat and I think their supporters are generally understanding of the importance of breaking a long drought. I am sure we will have a long rivalry for many seasons to come. If we had beaten Geelong I would be throwing it in their face like I did in the prelim because they’re a despicable bunch of arrogant tools and their players are all insufferable. But happy to stay humble in victory.11 points

You can tell we are going to go from being pitied, to everyone’s second team to absolutely hated in the next few years and that couldn’t be more glorious11 points

Massive mistake, I agree. Sparrow isn’t fringe, he’s clearly best 22. And had some outstanding moments last night - the kick to Fritsch on the goal line was perfect, and the goal he kicked from 50, off a step, to put us three goals up was absolutely huge. It’s not his first big goal from that distance (think Brisbane on the run, last quarter). Plus, he’s a regular at my local cafe with Jimmy Jordon and the two of them look about 14 years old. They’ll be even better when they grow up.11 points

Imagine this flag with Nev and Jones in the side. I don't think I could have contained myself, and that says it all. I thought Wrecker was great, but peak Nev was the best small defender in my time.10 points

Probably been said a few times on here but... One positive from not being able to go to the MCG and watch was being able to watch with the family at home. Unlikely the Mrs would have come despite following Dees, and two boys too young to take to bigger crowd games and unlikely to score GF tks. I was able to enjoy at home an intensely watched game with all of them - a rare event My 5 year old knows all players names by number and recognition on TV. And get this, he has the gall to say just after the final siren "I've waited my whole life for this" 🤣9 points
