  1. Just watched the replay for a second tine.? I 'm sorry as much as I love Spargo's work, in the interests of fairness we need to give some love to the other like player in Nibbler. Last year he was much maligned and many wondered if he was in our best 22 ( Thanks Richie benaud) but after Tmac, he has been our most improved player. Used to be one of the worst offenders in missing set shots on goal but kicked a ripper from the boundary. He doesnt get much recognition but his work rate in running and tackling is probably even better than Sparticus and the way he celebrates the success of others shows his passion. Also love the way he sticks up for others. Got a bit of agro in him in a good way. His tackles are rarely shaken too. If he continues to keep getting better, it will be very, very interesting. He is probably one of our fittest players which is a big call. Thanks Alex.N. B.

  2. Just felt compelled to put something down on this but the utter contempt for us from certain media types is really insulting. I know we have been awful, truly awful in the past and i get the whole trust thing, i think its totally fair enough, we have failed many test before and i get that it stays with people but my goodness, some just cannot bring it upon themselves to pay is any praise without a but on the end. The 2 main offenders are the 2 people who, have been burnt by the demons the most in the past, these so called experts tipped Melbourne to win flags in 2019 and were made to look silly, are David King and Kane Cornes. I know it should not worry me but it really aggravates me that these 2 in particular cannot give any unconditional praise. Firstly Cornes says we were really good but was critical of Kozzie and teh pointing to the scoreboard incident.. of all the things we did well, that was his main take, its unbelievable. I for one loved the aggression and the arrogance of it, we have been passive for the best part of 10 years, we show some spunk, some swagger and some mongrel and the criticism still comes, they ask us to stand for something and then are critical when we do. And David King cannot bring himself to give praise, last night, if you can watch the first crack on Fox, his contempt for us was embarrassing, he could not just compliment our game without a rider, his thing was that Richmond will remember this and that Kozzie to extract the free kick dipped his shoulder and was alluding that it was illegal and not on, it was laughable, it was embarrassing for King, and it stood out like the dogs proverbials that he hates this club.. I hope we keep going, these guys will run out of things to be negative about eventually, or maybe not but its just so boring. At the start of the year, every media tool said Melbourne was the team under the greatest amount of pressure, we come out and beat 6 sides, including the premier and the grand finalist and still they find a way to be critical. Just a vent. Feel better now,

  3. To me this is an ugly comment after years of our own irrelevancy. Be tough, be strong in our support but do not become inwardly regugnant. Respect the competition and respect Norths heritage.

  4. This is the mob that beat us on 18 consecutive occasions. We were indeed their bunnies. Time for a good old fashioned hammering.

  5. North have just reported all their players and staff have returned negative results. One pundit on Twitter asked whether they'd tested negative for talent ?

  6. If the entire North entourage tested Negative, once back in Victoria, I don’t see what the problem is. Sorting out all this Covid tracing would be one serious nightmare.... Stop all planes ✈️ flying in and out of India NOW

  7. I know we are a really good side this year. I do NOT need confirmation of that from the media. I could care less what they think. In fact I would prefer that didn’t rate us at all. I feel generally surprised at supporters who are outraged at the “lack of respect” shown to us by the media, and feel they need their confirmation for us to be the real deal. Look and believe with your own eyes. We are 6 and zip. We have played and beaten some good sides. What more confirmation do you need?

  8. I remember their supporters (all 24 of them) mocking us for a decade when we couldn't beat them. They had a right old laugh after they beat us by 122 points at Telstra Dome when Neil Craig was caretaker coach after Neeld got sacked. After last nights win there has been a few calls on here today from some do-gooders telling us to be humble and tone down the rhetoric. How about no. If we slaughter North I will walk all over their graves and their supporters will know all about it.

  9. As well as being effective in his role, Alex Neal-Bullen is making football a bit more fun. Sometimes it's the little things I like. Whenever anyone kicks a goal you can bet that one of the first people to get to them to celebrate will be Nibbler. I'm also a permanent fan of: - players regaining form after a slump. - non-'star' players making a contribution above their price. - team-focused hard workers being rewarded with moments of personal glory.

  10. Reckon we're being a bit sensitive here. This is what else King said. "I’ve been waiting for Melbourne. I’ve been a critic of Melbourne because too often they’ve taken you on a journey and then they’ve let you down,” King told SEN’s Whateley. “The Melbourne fans are still apprehensive about whether it’ll be there at the end of the year, but all we can talk about is now. “To see Max Gawn do what he is doing … I’d love to be captained by Max Gawn. To see Christian Petracca continue on with his brilliance, to see Christian Salem now come with him, Clayton Oliver’s always been Clayton Oliver, he’s an 8/10 player every week. “The rest of them now are appreciating their pecking order and it doesn’t matter where you are, you have still got an important function. “The penny seems to have dropped at Melbourne and I know we’re probably thinking ‘we said this last week’, but you’ve still got to see it against the best.”

  14. Just watched the Kossie vs Mansell thing again. I reckon it's great that Kossie has the mongrel to take it the Richmond guys. Also in that melee, Jackson at 19 years old wasn't scared to throw his weight around, and Rivers was in there too letting the Tiges players know what was what. The whole incident amounted to a statement by our club: just try to push us around. Find out how that goes. It won't be too long before oppo players think twice about getting in Kossie's face. He's not as big as uncle Byron but he's inherited some **** from him.

  15. I don't really like digging up old posts/threads (heaven knows I have posted some shockers over the years on this site!). But I really think Josh Mahoney deserves a bit more credit for the tireless work he did behind the scenes in getting guys like Lever, May, Langdon, Tomlinson, Hibberd, etc. to the Club. These guys have been huge acquisitions for us and we really need to appreciate the part Mahoney played in those trade deals. Especially when the Norm Smith medal is hanging around Lever's neck at the end of September. Go Dees!

  17. Crowds are also down because the process of getting a ticket is a pain. Lots of older people would not know how to get a ticket. Hell Ticketek is a hot mess even for the most technologically savvy. Given we have to scan a QR code, I don’t get why people can’t come and get a ticket on the day. Leave a section just for that and so everyone sits in that area for the purpose of contact tracing And don’t get me started on the epic stupidity of not letting reserved seat members use their bloody seats. What’s easier to contact trace than that?! ?

  18. It would be peak Melbourne to lose this game. I hope we win this game easily, but if we do I'm not going to laugh at their fans or their club. We've been so bad for so long, it would be good to have a bit of humility and enjoy our own side being good rather than rubbing it in the faces of other supporters. And as the example of Collingwood, Adelaide, St Kilda, us in 2019 etc show it can all turn around in the blink of an eye so let's not set ourselves up for massive bad karma coming our way. Enjoy the ride folks!

  20. I’m the complete opposite type of Demon fanatic. I don’t own a car, let alone a Range Rover; I only know what a charcuterie plate is coz I saw it on the Hans ad. on TV; and as for snow, the closest I would ever get to seeing white powder is if I’m walking down the main street of St. Albans and the meth-head in front of me falls over and the baggie of ice in his pocket comes tumbling out onto the footpath. (This actually happened.)

  21. We need Brown in the team. We'll be better with a quality FF. McDonald is keeping Weideman out. That's just the way it is. Brown should come in for Jones.

  24. Nah I'm allowed to hate clubs that celebrated our misery during the dark days. Bit like how I hate crow supporters when they were celebrating Lever doing his knee back in 2018.

  25. Agree about the game. North are at rock bottom and have a long hard road ahead of them. They have won more premierships than us recently and in terms of irrelevancy stakes we're putting our first serious season together in a lift time (2018 was a good run to finals but we were patchy all through that season). We're been a joke club for way too long so some self awareness about that fact wouldn't go astray on this thread. Stay classy Folks

  31. The media is 100% inconsequential to our performances, yesterday, today and tomorrow. I for one am happy we are still not being rated as highly as the Dogs, although we have beaten better side than they have. The less pressure is on us to perform by the clowns who call themselves footy experts, the better. We will eventually drop a game we should win, just like we have won a game not many expected us to win, and the criticism will come thick and fast. That is how fickle the footy media is. Just as they still rate Richmond a chance to win the flag, and are all certain they'll make the top 4. It takes a long time for these so called experts to change their tune for better or worse.

  32. One week at a time.......winners are grinners.......nothing these clowns say can a) take back the 4 points, b) stop the quiet spring in the step each Monday morning after a win..... Go Dees - onwards to the next challenge!!!!!

  33. I've now watched the replay and the pile on was right. I was wrong. Kossie threw a baby half elbow that barely brushed mansell's chin, and then Mansell reacted by wrestling koz to the ground. And Kozzie post-goal was much less taunting than I originally thought. Thanks for calling me out all I particularly enjoyed Bolton saying 'come on, come on' to Viney - like he would last 3 seconds in that fight. He then went and decked Oliver for the 2nd free. How good!

  34. I hope we put them to the sword. Not coz I have a particular issue with them (in fact I barely notice them and when I do I find them boring and soulless), but because I want us to be ruthless against all teams, especially those on the ropes like North is.

  35. This week it is about fine tuning the effectiveness of the team. For instance, if we bring in Brown for a mid or a small, is that going to upset team balance which has been so effective up til now. Personally, l think inclusion of Brown is a must, it is simply how best to do this. When you have someone who is fully fit available who has kicked over 60 goals in a year, you must play them in your best 22. You only need to look at what Cameron has done for the Cats to see that. It is now simply a question of who will need to be dropped.

  38. I cannot stand that club and their supporters are all [censored]. Never met a North supporter who I didn’t want to punch in the face. Hard. I will never feel sorry for another club. We have been through more than anyone and nobody felt sorry for us. I hope we smash them by 20 goals and BB comes in and kicks 12. But I suspect it’ll be a closer game and after coming down from a massive win this week, it might just be a boil over.

  41. I think we need to just enjoy the ride; haters gonna hate and frankly who cares. Snow gags, pretenders, April Premiers, underachievers, draftcheaters...big deal; the results speak for themselves 6-0. Sooner or later you either win the premiership or you don't; that is how we win respect!!

  42. Happy to stay under the radar as such for as long as possible. Teams have been coming at us hard, which hasn’t worked so they’ll need to come up with something else but the longer we’re out of the media spotlight at 6-0 the better.

  43. Watched the game again on replay. That third quarter ... that's the most ferocious and intense play I can recall seeing from this club. Full on unrelenting 30 minutes where we gave them not one inch of ground, no room to move, no room to breathe even. Hardly a single Tiger possession that was not under extreme pressure. Not that they didn't try to give us similar treatment back, but they battled to score, while we pulled away. Fantastic stuff. GO DEMONS!

  44. Someone on the Richmond board called Salem a spud. "How does a spud like Salem get 39 touches" was the quote. I might make it my life's work to find that poster and challenge them to a duel.

  45. As stupid as it sounds, Carlton is a danger game. They match up well against us. I disagree. This is not where we're at as a football club anymore. Young players, health of the AFL 22 permitting, should have to wait until their form demands selection and until there is an available spot on offer in the AFL 22. We don't just get games into players for the sake of it. It's a long season, so if the guys at Casey continue to put their hands up, they'll eventually get their chances organically.

  48. Listen to me you feral Richmond followers, I have been to more Melbourne games than you have had sloppy beers. I have supported my team through all the bad times of which there has been many, enough to destroy the soul of the most hardened football supporter. I have never cried foul and called for the head of the coach etc, spat on my players, sent chook manure to the club, threatened to send back my membership card or burn it in the microwave. Never cried poor and asked the other clubs' supporters for help (remember Save Our Skins?), whinged and sooked about the lack of success ad nauseum. When you know it is a Melbourne home game but deliberately pick seats in the Melbourne reserved seat members section because the stupid ticketing system lets you and instead of humbly supporting your team, you want to stir and give it to the Melbourne supporters around you while slurping on your tenth beer, don't be surprised when they finally get fed up with your crapola and give some lip back. Go and sit somewhere else. Pee off. Which you did. Sore losers. Where I was at the MCG there were more Melbourne people and we were louder than the Richmond sooks. As soon as it started raining and Richmond were behind they all disappeared. Who are the fair weather supporters? Not us. We have stuck through everything. And oh yeah I have never been to the hecking snow, not once. As for Kozzie he has the arrogance of youth. Good luck to him. We don't know what those Tiger players were saying and doing to him prior to that incident. I reckon they were being the cocky dheads they always are. Keep winning Melbourne and stick it up them all.

  49. I just don’t know how you make a change after beating the premiers unless there’s an injury. I mean in my wildest dreams I couldn’t have imagined us being 6-0 having beaten the tigers, with Weid and Brown not having played a minute of senior footy.
