Why doesn’t someone from the press actually interview Steven Smith and ask him if he intends running for the board. I would love to have him on the board But not to rescue our club for CS, we are in the best shape that we have ever been in  since my family became premium members 27 years ago. I have stopped buying the Age, Herald Sun, listening to SEN and even stopped watching 360o but I  can’t get away from them even on my favourite website. Whately has become a condescending supercilious bore. Stay close LH.

Sigh, it is going to be a long few months to the AGM or if/when SS 'confirms or denies' his intentions. 

We may not have to wait for the next election/AGM. An EGM to spill the board would get things done quickly (and before the men return) - probably takes just 2000 members to fire it up.

Don't know much about him, buy looks to have a good CV and an invested interest in the club being strong.

The big point I think would be that if he was at the MCC for so long he would have a good relationship and connections with people in the AFL.  Which we need, hopefully will allow us control media narrative around us a bit more.

SS - no. 35. Played like he had a cricket bat shoved up his bottle and glass. 200 games in a carp era - didn't play in a final. Alternated between CHB and CHF. I loved him - always thought he'd rip the comp apart one day. I guess I had to adjust my reality when he was delisted. Now there's a chance to rip the comp apart again - just in a different role. Who would have thought? Deliver us a three-peat son.

Contrary to the tone of many comments hear finding a suitable candidate to bring onto a board in the last year of a presidency and then having an orderly transition is what good leaders in a strong culture do, not cultureless messes.

But hey, keep following the media narrative and potting our club, we’ve had a mass exodus of players (Petty, Viney, Trac, Clarry, Kozzie, oh hang on, they’re all still there), mass exodus of coaches (only Stafford, which was predictable with our forward line stagnating, our mid coach is the second assistant in two years to be sounded out by another club as a senior coach, just terrible!), unstable board (one change this year woah! By all accounts an excellent candidate in Smith with excellent credentials. Steady there!)

What a culture-less basket case we are!
