Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

According to Rucci, McAdam wants a three-year deal on the back of kicking eight goals in his last three games in 2023.

The small forward and his management have reportedly been talking to the Demons and Rucci expects him to seek a trade to the club this off-season.

“He has quit the Adelaide Football Club,” Rucci said on SEN SA The Run Home.

“Rejecting a two-year offer when he wanted three.

“He has had talks with Melbourne and will seek a trade to Melbourne.”

Rucci also added that one reason for McAdam’s pending departure is differences between he and the club’s fitness staff. The forward suffered both a thigh injury and fractured cheekbone in 2023.

“There are also some other issues that have emerged through the year in that there's clearly a difference of opinion or style between him and the fitness coaches of Adelaide as to what was best for his preparations and so forth,” Rucci said.

“I'm not going to take sides. I've heard one element of it. I can understand the other element of it.

“When you get that sort of unsettled moment in a footy club that can keep rolling along.”

Rucci says McAdam will be playing for the Demons in 2024 if a trade can be done.

“The key point here is that he had a two-year contract offer on the table (from Adelaide),” Rucci added.

“But he doesn't believe Adelaide's the place he should be playing.

“He has put out the feeler to Melbourne, they've put their arms around him, and he'll be playing for Melbourne if the trade can be done which is the next phase of all this.

“But he has quit the Adelaide Football Club.”

McAdam has played 50 games and has kicked 72 goals for the Crows since making his debut in 2020.

Do we really need more competition for half forwards, or more 28 year olds on the list? I can't see how this possibly improves the mix of our list.

Yes and yes

We are not in a rebuild phase. We are in a flag winning phase. Right age group.

Not a small forward as written in the article. 186cm tall, plays taller as a marking type like Melksham and Fritsch. He’s a medium forward with a great leap and a strong mark for his size. Took a ripper against us late in the season. Doesn’t kick bags but consistently hits the scoreboard (averages 1.7 goals a game). He’d basically replace Melksham next year.

Mature age, injuries, wouldn’t command a lot at the trade table. 3rd rounder for proven afl capable level depth would be a decent outcome for us.

58 minutes ago, whatwhat say what said:

third round pick at best you'd think

good kick, would take him

adds some class to the forward half which we werent getting out of spargo in 23 and allows pickett to move up the ground without leaving us weak i50. good tackler too, bargain deal and better suited to our overall list profile than dunstan harmes types who are midfielders only given the strength and versatility of our current best 22 onball with brayshaw and rivers going in when one of the big 3 are out. smart business.

What's his kicking like?

I wouldn't be bringing in any player the draft or trade period who isn't an elite kick.

Yuck Yuck Yuck, lazy footballer and poor attitude.  Wants to take screamers all the time and always puts his hands up when he team mates don't kick to him.  Don't need this position and he is 28.  don't see it

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
