Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Largely spiritless and bland performance. Reminded me a lot of 2020 - haphazard connection forward of centre and lack of a clear plan to mark inside 50. Dominated large parts of the third but kept kicking it to  no one.

The Lever free (probably the worst of a terrible bunch) just accelerated the anti-momentum.

Bye has come at a good time. Time to reset and learn to embrace being hunted.

I'm in two minds here. There's a few players that I'm ready to have a pot at, including my fave ANB. But this is a tired team. We'll beat Brisbane after the bye.

We would have still lost had May been in there.

The team is not running and out hunting like last year. We are near the  bottom of the ladder on team pressure and it is now telling when a mid table team beats us.

We will struggle to win many more games this year if we don’t get this back. It is the one thing we can fix easily without form.

However,  I’m most disappointed at the response. I was expecting something special and finals like and yet  bar from a few it was insipid and embarrassing.

Petty couldn't have done much more today. Late effort vs Mihocek wasn't great but worked hard in the absence of May.

He is being held together by duct tape and thin air ffs. He was immense. Lever is in some horrific form and is embarrassingly bad.

Everything about that game was predictable. Only this time we gave up a 20 point lead instead of the standard 25-30 point lead.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional.

This has been coming ever since we struggled in large parts against North and West Coast.

We don’t apply pressure and we can’t/don’t want to tackle anymore.

We are the worst team connecting inside 50 i think I've ever seen, so predictable always long to the pocket and not to advantage, slow ball movement also cost us  its like they are scared to make a mistake

JFC there is some massive overreactions on here. We will reset over the bye and be fine.

Pies run in the third started with a horrendous umpiring decision. That isn't paid and it probably ends up completely different.

Steven May might have made a difference to the shambolic defence, but the connection going forward was again non-existent. A big question mark is also growing about the physical fitness of a team that is developing a habit of building useful leads, only to fade away dramatically under pressure. This never happened when Burgess was there. Given the tough draw ahead, a top-four spot is in real danger now.

finals altogether are in danger .

When a few of us raised concerns after the WC and North game we were immediately shut down on here.

There are few too many delusional supporters on here who could not see this coming.

We don't play or look like a top 6 side as it stands.

The people having a crack at Petracca on here are being lead by their emotions. Is he off form.. yes. But he had more clearances and more i50s then anyone on the ground. Could they have been better i50s? Sure… but to bloody who??! Zero presence up forward, out marked again and again and again and again and again and again and… you guessed it, again.

We have no forward line. If it comes in badly, no chance. But if we’re running in with more space, we’re being presented with nothing because Brown and Brown have zero mobility = zero advantageous lead, and no space in behind.

Everyone has worked out our game plan, we only play one side of the ground, when we have the ball no-one looks to transfer the play just kick it down the line, forwards have to go that way it is because that is the way we play, we will make finals but Jesus they have to change the way we play.

He did some really good things. He was ok.

Alex Neal Bullen & sparrow need to get better

Sadly, both tend to delay disposals or spot the correct targets. Across the board, too many bombs allowing the Filth players to make ground to spoil, intercept or block. Gus played well inside a team that lacked cohesion.

Why oh why do we insist on not having a tall as the sub. FFS Tomlinson can play forward at a pinch, he can play wing. He can defend. Three weeks in a row we have defenders go down and the sub is a small forward.
Also why didn’t we put Ben Brown in the ruck to help poor Gawn? This man is going to die on the field for this team. We don’t deserve him!

I've always hoped Kozzie would light it up one of these days.  Maybe mark of the year and consecutive goals of the year.  But, if we are going to bomb it into our forward line, why isn't Kozzie at the feet of the tall guys.   The amount of time Collingwood ran it out of their backline to players who were free continually, was so frustrating.  Fritsch is ok, if we dominate in the middle, but he does not have the ability to change a game himself.  I thought BBB had  a real crack, but not many to support him.

Today was Neale's day.  A life member of the MFC.  When are we going to honour the man, on this day, which he so much deserves.  I am a 55 year member of the club and like many, I have seen much lower times, but we need to stand up in this current day and age and say, last year's flag was just the beginning.  It seems that the players are actually saying, we've done enough.

Not good enough.  For a reigning premier, I am embarrassed...... again..... tonight.

No forward line? Fritta who kicked 6 in a GF.  BBB who topped the galokicking multiple years running.,  etc. Please

This. We are playing like we’re afraid of losing. Get up by a decent amount then all of a sudden go ‘oh [censored] I hope we don’t lose from here’.

We play with no flare and have barely done so all year.

This is all on the coaching and playing group getting way too complacent.

It was fantastic whilst it lasted I guess.

Everyone will say that Jake only plays well when Steve is in the team, which is a shocking excuse, you can't play afl and only be able to play well as long as another person is in the team. Your form cannot and should not be solely dependant on one other player. I know the argument and I get it, but Steve's absence cannot excuse the performance he dished up today.

and besides, even when Steve has been in the team this year, Jake has yet to have hit his straps.

He is a shell of the All Australian defender he was last year. Not sure what has happened to him.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
