Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Ok but totally biased against Viney.  Hit up Brown for a goal. Hit up Kozzy for a goal.  Kicked super goal in the third.
Nine tackles. At the contest.

“Very good game”.

Going on about umpiring like Essendon fans ignores the fact that we still should have run over the top of them but froze and fell to bits against a side one player down on the bench.

Gawn - Dominated hitouts department

Pickett - Costly early miss

Brown - Costly 2 behinds (and 1 on the full)

Fritsch - Above the knee

Viney - Better than r18

Petracca - Clangers superseded brilliance

McDonald - Lose more weight? (lol)

Oliver - Possible 2 votes

Hunt - 611 metres gained!

Neal-Bullen - Stop getting smothered

May - Some dumb FA's

Salem - Losing his AA

Harmes - Didn't notice him

Jackson - Rising star slider

Lever - Our best defender

Spargo - Pressuring has declined

Brayshaw - Just a game

Hibberd - Not our worst

Langdon - Season low numbers

Jordon - costly dropped mark

Rivers - rookie soldiering on

Petty - always seems unlucky

Umpiring: A please explain

Disagree with many

trac was very good

petty and Rivers solid

hunt was good

Browns first half was poor but he did show signs in the second. But the damage was done by then

There’s no way the game has passed Viney, proved again what he will do for the club, was in and under all night.

2016 happening again

As I said during the week, the umpires will destroy our game chances, once again, through incorrect use of the whistle (in any way that they 'can get away with'). The attempt is made in every game the MFC plays.

We were In it all night. Midfield matched the dogs, Gawn dominant.

We were wasteful in attack, again, they were not.

We missed several gettable shots, they did not.

We failed to take our difficult chances, they did not.

We got a rough ride from the umpires, they did not.

Game over...

Agree - had our chances, can';t kick straight.  BBB first two "attempts" were actually pathetic.

It really does feel like a syndicated, 'old boys' conspiratory against the Dees, that many amongst us cannot for some reason accept or acknowledge. It has pressed us, for years; it is still pressing us after we have - as a footy club - re-organised and re-structured against the odds and expectations of 'the rest of them'. We live in hope, as a consequence. Will our Board ever do something about it? Nearly all of the consequences of last night's footy match against the Doggies were in the hands of the umpires and were so delivered across the game without sanction, excepting of course those few that were too blatant to be ignored. However, the power of the whistle applied and re-applied to quell the eveness of the game that would lead to a different end result.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
