Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Might get more strength as he matures !

He will but sometimes players gain strength by bulking up in the gym and lose a little of tgeir speed and tank.

Its great to have him in patches in the midfield but the forward line is his true possie.

His uncanny sense of where the posts are, his ability to quickly turn and kick and his not going to ground or if he does he gets up quickly and acceleration make him the perfect small forward.

If he keeps up this form he is going to start getting a lot of off the ball attention.  As we've seen with the likes of Oliver and Gawn, the umpires will pay free kicks from time to time but most of the time players are good at doing this without being seen.  Like Oliver, it will be important for Kozzie to change positions for the days when he's getting tagged out of the match.

Yes. I remember it happening to Flash. He never handled it well.

He isn't eligible. He played too many games last year.

It's meaningless anyway.

Edit: snap!

I've never seen acceleration like Pickett's, he truly is a blur at times.  The clean pick-up at top speed, the agility, the snap off either foot.  Incredible!

What I would like to know is, how do you go to ground, gather the ball pop back up and snap a goal, without losing any speed whatsoever.

He was fine till Neitz retired.
After that he got no support from his teammates and the taggers did what they pleased.
Needed some protection but never got any.

Protecting each other is the most important factor. We get none from the umpires.

Ineligible.

If he maintains his current form he'll be All Australian this year.

Well that's a bit of a bummer eh.  Oh well he is gonna rock it anyway

Are we going with Kozzie, Kozzy or Kossie.

Seen the press use them all.

The moniker for him in our household is "Little Richard". All wild hair, glinting ivories, sassy moves and stage presence to burn. Twists and turns and hits the scoreboard rather like LR hit the keyboard. Some of the shots of him bear an uncanny resemblance.

He’s put the competition on notice now, so get ready for the tag and defenders roughing him up. I don’t know why but I can very easily see Nibbler being the first in to protect him. I think the boys should be ready to “fly the flag” against the cats.

For that matter though Kozzie tackles as hard as anyone in the team so he will be up for it!

The Cats will definitely target him.  Thats 100% going to happen.

What they may not realize is that he has his uncle Byrons toughness and targeting him may only unleash a monster.

We need to be smart and disciplined. Geelong are devious s**thouse rats, will milk frees and draw 50 metre penalties.

Fly the flag in the contest but don't get involved in any silly stuff. If Kossie's marker is giving him a hard time then line him up in the tackle or contest

And/or keep hitting up / finding Spargo & Nibbler who might not be getting as much attention (assuming Nib isn't playing a run with role).

No doubt posted plenty of times elsewhere on these boards but it's been quite a while since i was so excited about a goal by a red & blue player, even though he's already kicked a number of beauties!  Play it again Mozzie!...

I loved all his touches at the weekend but particularly his third goal - absolutely classical small forward crumbing, which we have so sorely lacked: seeing the high ball coming in, evading his opponent, snapping up the expected spill from the pack .... BANG!!!❤️❤️

A thing of beauty Mono.  Would have the opp defenders & their coaches pretty bloody nervous i would think.

Looking at the clip again the thing I really love about it is he backed himself in 100% all the way. Trac was right around him, LJ was there as well but he put the burners on and took it upon himself. I felt last year he was a classic case of a young player trying to find his feet, sometimes getting caught in two minds on whether to give it off or take the shot. Now he's making the decision and there's no second guessing it. The Brayshaw goal you could say he might've found a way out of traffic but in the split second he had to make the call he made it and gave Gus a shot on goal.

Get out to the G on Sunday Dees fans, make some noise for Kozzie!

Very good point.  Seems like his decision making is on as well.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
