Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

It sounds like it’s been blown massively out of proportion, but it’s frustrating nonetheless, given the recent history. It’s all the little things that are adding up - his tab with his teammates is growing.

Nash you probably didnt see my post from the "Lewis is cooked...." thread on Sat after the match against the Hawks.  Here is the end bit...

P.S.  Jordy should be on the D'land banner ....in place of May who's done zip for this club so far (assuming that IS May in the middle).

If i may mention one other key difference between  Jordy and May that should see Jordy replace May on the banner...

4 time Premiership player, Club B&F 2014, All Australian 2014 ... and...

Player has a few drinks on a Sunday arvo, leaves before 6pm and isn't drunk.  Clearly May is more Forest Gump than Albert Einstein 9given his circumstances) but this is ambulance chasing [censored] of the highest order by who ever he is.

His time at the center of our banner is ticking i would suggest......hope the big fella can turn it all around when he gets back on the field.

NoBody... No Player should get onto the Banner.  Until he/she has thoroughly deserved it,  with the Melbourne footy club.

... doesn't matter what they've done,  or haven't done,  elsewhere.

I believe the club is also looking into whether he stopped for a souva on the way home.

Lamb and chicken, extra meat, with garlic sauce, chilli sauce, no tomato is the rumour.

‘Drinking related incident’ what was the incident? Horrible reporting.

Footy player has a few beers on a Sunday.

Move on. Nothing to see here

Another straw on the camel's back that is the recruiting department...

I don't want to tick the 'like' icon as a poster comment, but I do think that this is a question worth an answer. The complete scan of a potential recruit has often been in order for the MFC - and paying customers would be happy to pick up the bill. As it is, we're paying and remorseful about the transfer fees, the ongoing wages and the loss of team form/momentum. That is not why I buy annual memberships.

Having a few pints on a Sunday afternoon (reportedly between 2 and 6) seems a non issue to me, but if he feels the need to apologise to the playing group then he’s obviously not met an internal expectation. That’s the issue, not the drinking itself.

As we sit here right now, he’s a bust. He needs to work upwards from there.

Well, what can I say. We learned something today. He's not the Messiah, he's just a naughty boy.

And I agree with DubDee. What was the drinking related incident? That phrase made it sound like he got arrested, bashed someone or drove a car while drunk. Sensationalist reporting.

But I am still disappointed in May for drinking while doing rehab.

So in Rehab, turned up Pre Season UNFIT, and now Glug Glugging when in REHAB.

Can we TEAR up his deal???

If TRUE?? serious serious questions remain!

750 Gs for this bloke SERIOUSLY??

Over and out IMV!

This must be pushing his sunset clause with the MFC. Three strikes ... out. Surely. He is being paid to do something else for the Club. At least three times more than our best medical doctor.

I thought injured players were not allowed to drink as it can affect their recovery and it was a club rule.

Given his start to his MFC career it was dumb.

Correct Redleg. He is dumb. Most sports people in whatever sport they play will confirm that drinking does not assist in recovery of soft tissue or torn muscle injuries one little bit. One may even suspect that his prolonged absence from what was initially a couple of weeks out may have been attributed to not adhering to the rule to keep off the P when injured .

He must be a Messiah. Like every Messiah for the past 2000 years has proven to be a fake.

Apparently it's not a club rule per se, but obviously discretion is advised.

Roos carried on like a pork chop saying footy is ''clearly not his no.1 priority'', but for me that's way over the top.

Surely a player who's now moving very well according to an interview with Lever can have a few jars on a Sunday afternoon.  The carry on over nothing is extraordinary these days.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
