Tall athletic former pick 6? From a few years ago that has signalled his intentions to come home to vic.

Regarded as highly skilled outside mid with a bit of height on him, just hasn’t found his go at the GC (no one has).

Could be interesting to see how he goes and could compliment us.

Reports are that he wants to go to Hawthorn.

Of course he does. Mind you O'Rourke was a bust for them.

heard cal twomey ask the GC list manager about him on the Road to the Draft podcast.. sounds like he just hasn't found his groove up there. the language used indicated a pass for me. he might get a gig somewhere, but not melbourne or hawthorn!

I went to Swinburne Institute of Technology in the 70’s studying engineering and there was a Scrimshaw there who had played a few games with Hawthorn or Richmond. Can’t recall his first name but wonder is Jack a son or nephew?

I could see him carving it up at Casey.

We could craft him into something special on the bare bones of it.

He’s got a name of a fukin pirate. Get him in. YAAARRRGGGHHH

Maybe worth a speculative rookie spot, 'DAG' ?

If he tackles with enthusiasm, lets give him a go.  It could be worse, he could've had a wooden leg. ?

hmmm...if he hasnt been able to even get a game at GC this year , in his second year in the system,  Id be thinking he's probably a bust

Doesn't exactly stand out as the kind of hard nosed, compeditive and resilient types that Taylor, Viney and Co. typically target does it.

What draft pick was Toumpas?  The exact reason I don't think draft picks alone would be good value for Hogan - the draft can be an absolute lottery.

Only thing that reminds me of Cale these days is the footage of Brendan Lade chasing him around Footy Park a decade ago.

They also got a future 4th back... ? that could potentially be just a 5-10 pick downgrade for a pick 7, 2 years ago....

Smacks of the Hawks mentioning to scrimmshaw, "Just bide your time in the NEAFL, play like a busted and we will come and get you in 2 years on the cheap".

No wonder they are never going to bottom out with the feeder clubs dishing talent out like this.

How did their bargain buy for O'Rourke work out?

This is a pure punt...he played like a busted because he just might be one in football terms.

The Hawks don't always get it right, add the other Garlett to the mix...they get plenty wrong and now are punting harder to stay in the race as the Cats have done recently.

Toumpas =painful memories, goes to show you how awesome our recruiting department was back then, couldn't pick a stunner at a beauty pageant our former recruiting team.

Lets see how this plays out rjay, if he rips it up we will know this was a giant stitch up by the Hawks.

He appeared to have a lot of talent from what I saw of him. I hope a change of scenery works out well for him. Gold Coast would be a tough place to stay out your career.

The biggest stitch up was that he was contracted for 2 more years at 400k and the Suns were keen to get out of the contract.

First year was pretty solid. Looks like a guy who checked out last year

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
