POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 19

i feel like i haven't enjoyed this win yet as i was so stressed in that last quarter that i'm just relieved.  We'd be the only team to lose from 5 goals up in torrential rain! but we got there in the end. gee, that frost holding the ball could've cost us the game. you could see us trying to lock the ball in but we had too many numbers around the footy. sometimes its better to let the opposition get the ball and tackle them instead of all diving on it and then having to get the ball out.

To be fair, the Jones and Frost ones were obvious.

The high against Gus? was a joke

The Frost one was nothing, and had it been a crows player...it would absolutely have been play on. Just shameful umpiring, as usual in Adelaide. The AFL needs to settle down on the rules fiddling and put their efforts into finding ways to improve interstate umpiring. It ruins the game.

Love to know whats wrong with Hogan....rest next week?

He was fantastic for an injured man in that last contest, though he needs to learn to handball both hands.

Just got home from the game. Loved the effort in the last quarter considering a gale was blowing to the Crows end. One of the best wins this year for me. Suck [censored] Crows!!

Tonight was a first for me. It was the first time in my life that I desired a cold shower and had one. The reason being I was absolutely sweating bullets after that game. Gee whiz.

Watched the last two minutes just now. I'd have passed out watching it live.

It was intense TU. You’ll see some good footy in the 3rd quarter when you watch the replay.

Tonight was the first time for me. I left the house for a walk around the block when Tex was lining up after the Frost free. I couldn’t physically watch anymore.

Told the crew at home to leave the outside light on if we win. The walk took 5 minutes and when I got back there was no light on.

That was one sick joke they played on me. I’m only calming down now after watching the last 3 minutes.

We should be extremely proud tonight Demonlanders.

No idea the wind came up.  Was still early.  Nice to know and changes the view of the approach a bit

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
