Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Don't forget the two occasions Adelaide took advantage and the umpire called them back as it was 'no advantage'.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't the rule changed that it's the player and not the umpires call?

Yep. A shambles.

I'm pretty harsh on players as everyone knows but i like joel smith. sure, he lacks smarts at the moment but he will get there. he is the most athletic player on our list and i think him and frost will be fine. even though frost made me throw the remote against the wall and lose its batteries after his throw in the last few minutes. lol

Good god. We have broken hands, split webbing and long walks late at night to avoid reality.

Happy to report that my hand is not broken. But it is very bruised and swollen.

This club will kill me.

Also, James Harmes, with a broken hand, still had 23 touches and 8 tackles and still curbed Rory Sloane's influence for most of the night.  He is really becoming a good, consistent player through the midfield for us.

He was switched onto Gibbs in the last and really curtailed his influence. Gibbs had played loose at most of the stoppages for the night until the last. We finally manned him up with Harmes and he struggled. It was a great move, because Sloane played a more defensive role in Adelaide's midfield in the last. That suited us and allowed Harmes to drift onto the better user, in Gibbs.

Made a couple of really good decisions with ball in hand tonight, did Harmes. I've been critical of him in the past and this is certainly an area of his game that has never been a strength, but he's showing some really nice maturity. Credit to him and the coaches.

Harmes could become a real asset to our midfield once Viney returns, which will allow Jack to see ball, get ball, while Harmes plays the shutdown roles.

I know it’s been said countless times already this year, but it’s really nice to see some some hardness in the no.4 jumper :)

I haven't been able to see the game yet, but I was checking on my phone and when we went from 30 points up to 14 points up with 10 minutes left, I completely lost all confidence.

I'm sure there were parts of the fourth which stank and we probably made similar errors to last week, but to hold on and actually get it done, on the road, with the extreme pressure that this game put on us just to stay in the finals hunt, is immense.

Adelaide is a good team.

Their last two home games were wins against West Coast and Geelong, and they had most of their best players back.

It was pissing down rain for the last quarter and we stacked the backline and played the boundary for the whole quarter trying to defend our lead. So it wasn't as much a repeat of last week as an attempt to try and protect the lead. They probably went too conservative and made it too hard for us to score but we got the goal we needed right at the death.

Well done to JKH tonight I've been one doubting his ability at AFL level.

Was good tonight with decision making and pressure

He must have been shattered after missing that goal against Geelong, cos when he kicked his goal tonight our players went to him.

Great win, great third quarter, thrilled

That said, I look back in some games and think we were hard done by, this game I feel like we stole it - not that I am complaining

It's good to feel like we lost the territory battle (for once), but won it on the scoreboard by hanging in there and being efficient once we went inside. It has so often gone the other way this season in that regard.

JKH is building towards keeping a spot on the list. Thought he was assured and trusty after some early game iffy moments.

Fritta is gold at either end of the ground.

Some down-on-form guys have lifted. Tracca, ANB...

Hogan's health is a worry. Love his endeavour when it was clear they were trying to stop the swelling in his knee, and a groin issue... but at his current rate he's a liability. Would even be worth a game for Weed or Pedo against Suns with no May to let him get cherry ripe.

A friend of mine went today. All the way from Melbourne. Man, has he been texting a lot, he’s so thrilled he went.

I can understand people’s frustration in our 4th quarter captulation, but just remember the important thing: we WON. If we’d lost again, like last week, I’d be in tears now.

Clearly, we have some work to be done, but I think we should be happy we did hang on in the end. I CAN’T be unhappy with a win.

I’m pretty sure we’ll win next week. If we can get another win after that, I think it’s a pretty safe bet they’ve can cancel our end of season trip in September.

I smashed my hand on the stone kitchen bench in last quarter when the Crows were coming. Oh Lord ! I started bleeding from the knuckle and also split the webbing of my right hand and believe me l was bleeding Red and Blue blood. But I don't care because we won.

Thank the Lord he was on our side for once. I can smile till the next game.

I never realised soup making was such a serious pastime!

Yep, beat the suns and one of Sydney, Eagles and Giants and we make finals.

If we are going to do anything in the finals we should beat one of those 3 anyway.

Go dees

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
