So, quick refresher - anyone out there still want to claim Marc Murphy is overrated?

If he was on our list right now we'd have the big piece we're missing and would be legitimately anticipating a grand final.

Just bought a Freo, Doggies and West Coast beanie for tomorrows games.

Steven May will be out for weeks after his hit on Curnow. Good news for us

I wonder if boy wonder, Cripps, gets off for the tackle that rammed Swallow's head into the ground and he didn't come back on.

But Cripps is in the running for the Brownlow and the AFL would love to see him win it so the MRO may well weasel word an excuse to get him off.

Can't believe Carlton beat GCS who beat Sydney last week.  It is a very strange game, this aussie rules!

No way that Cripps gets suspended. Wasn’t even a particularly strong tackle. Swallow just st unlucky

Fair comment.

Is it too much to expect a win to WCE and upsets in the other two games today?

ha, maybe.. but its fair to say that we're all hoping for that to happen.

Not this Demonlander.  Absolutely hoping for a Norf win as I don't accept WCE have 2nd spot (and home finals) locked away, nor that a top 4 spot is beyond the Dees.    It is pointless us hoping for everyone outside the eight to fall away, just so we can fall in to finals.  Someone will be there with 13 wins.  We need to win our way in to finals and strive to get a double chance, hopefully with as many Victorian based clubs in the top 4 as possible.

Carlscum v $un$

suprised it wasn’t prime time last night

Potentially the most thrilling game yesterday so it should have been !!!!

Carlton's millions of fans deserve it surely.

I'll be cheering on the WB today, should be atrocious cold conditions today and a poor spectacle, Dogs to scrap it out, Port are pretenders.

"Central for Sunday Very high chance of showers. Snow falling above 900 metres. The chance of a thunderstorm from late this morning. Gusty winds and possible hail. Winds NW 30 to 45 km/h turning W 35 to 55 km/h. Daytime maximum temperatures between 9 and 14."

It is freezing here in Ballarat top of 9, hope the doggies get up

I still think Ballarat is the coldest place I've ever been to. I remember sitting at that train station one morning when it was snowing and windy, will never forget it, thought I was going to die.

Not with Shuey and Kennedy out. Shuey's is "personal reasons" while Kennedy is general soreness...

Dogs deserve it but fascinating that they are paid by the State Government to play in Ballarat but we have to go to NT to get our dollars.

Would love to be on  a deal to play in Mildura instead of Darwin

Yep totally with you. Tipped the Doggies, let’s hope they have a blinder and send these floppers packing.

North are blessed down in Tassie. First time I can recall North kicking to the left of screen in the first quarter and there’s no wind blowing down there.

Hope the dogs can win. The only reason i would be happy to see nth or hawthorn win is because it just makes it that tad harder for essenscum to get in

Kicked it.

Theatre.  If a player threw the ball up like that at any other part of the ground it wouldn't go up 5cm before being called a throw.  If a defender did it they'd be laughed out of the league.

I tend to agree. It was a great goal, but he certainly threw it up in the air before connecting with the ball.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
