And Harmes rucking is a joke. I know we don’t want to go tall in the wet but the whole time Gawn was on the bench was an utter shambles in the middle.

Lever is simply just going to the wrong position three quarters of the time and never effects the contest.

Really concerning how much he isn't clicking

I couldn't believe that. Nothing surprises me anymore with Goodwin, the bloke is completely out of his depth as a coach. It is just stupid to have Harmes go up against McKovey.

Not worried.  It's 8 points.  Well and truly in the game.

You’re not worried we let them kick the last 5 goals? I wish I had your confidence.

Our forwards playing in front of their man for once would be a good start.

Playing in the same postcode for that matter.

No more honourable losses please.

No. This would be a good game to pinch because we have played like sh*t. All that matters is we get the W. But hopefully we concentrate on our weaknesses during the next week after stealing those wins.

If we can’t beat a middle of the road Geelong or hawthorn then we haven’t improved. We’ve beat a dismal bears and Roos

I don’t want to jinx it but Oscar has been A grade.

We have done a good job on Mitchell. I think Jonesy is on him. However we are still losing the clearances which is not helping the panic handball to 12 Hawthorn players versus 1 Melbourne player.

Stop the horrendous hanball and fumbling and we are back in it.

Some awareness running with ball would also help.

They kicked 4 goals for the term, we kicked 4 points.  They just took their chances, we didn't.  Plenty of time to fix things up.

You're right, we are in it for sure but i think it's frustrating because we should be winning? kicking behind after behind, making poor decisions inside 50... i just hope we tidy up and win this because we really cannot afford to lose

Goodwin being shown up again today. Organization and strategy with ball today has been atrocious. I wish we had a coach who could organize this group properly because it’s a top 4 team playing below their ability at present.

Not so sure mate, need a massive 2nd half to win this

Goodwin is being badly ourcoached. They have an extra around the ball when Gawn is rucking due to him winning most. They even have two extra when it is inside 50. We sit out loose players just 20m away and they kick over them and we they are away. We cannot go anywhere with him at the helm.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
