INFINITI announced as Major Partner

Yay! We got a new sponsor a week away from Round One. Better late than never. I assumed the "Big Announcement" was that loyal,  paid-up & p'eed off supporters were launching a class action, (through one of or favourite legal firms in Melbourne that love this stuff), against all our boards that continually over-rated our list and potential year after year. And yeah, I've heard all the tripe first-hand. We have eyes, we saw what happened. Big Announcement will actually be us cracking the top four this year. And if you give a fig, I'm backing them. We finally have a settled board and  exciting team.

Wondered where this had gotten to. Great news though.

It's exciting we've managed to land another sponsor, but I'm most excited about seeing those three guys in the same picture. Lever, Hogan and Petracca. Wowza, we're spoilt for young talent.

Get on there and like the [censored] out of this Tweet. The more clicks the better. Show the Club AND Infinity that you appreciate the sponsorship.

Go Dees.

Players must uphold their end of a contract now. Our fixture is still a wasteland for coverage, compared to other sides.

We have to beat teams on their turf, repeatedly. Infiniti want exposure, and there is only one way to get it

I’m going to go with another major sponsor. Lexus, Infiniti or Tesla.

I prefer it not be a new state of the art home/training base. It’s not much use to me over here.

like ya thunking et.

What happens to iSelect in that case?

I'm not against it commercially but we have had issues under previous administrations of treating sponsors poorly. Hankook comes to mind.

They may be cool with no longer being the back of jumper sponsor and only viewed it as stop gap. Would like to know what the situation is however.

Previous admins....... PJ

Wouldnt think that would be an issue CBF.

I wouldn't have thought PJ would be that craven either. Just was curious as to where they stood with the jumper.

Craven, I’m sure he is but only to a certain level. He knows his business and providing value to sponsors is key. I’ve mentioned before but I’ve seen PJ and Mahns at a couple of sponsors events and they gave more than enough time for the sponsor.

Lastly they would only have x amount of top line jumper sponsors and those are already taken by ISelect and Zurich.

I remember a great video the club did last year with Maxy interviewing the kids when we hit 40K members, and the message at the end of the video was to aim for infinity members in 2018

weve gone one better with Infiniti sponsors instead!

really proud of our club right now, and feeling a bit ashamed of the survey feedback I gave back in 2014 saying that our club was irrelevant.

Twitter is a terrible measure of brand engagement these days.

True, but it is used nevertheless. (is that 3 words or one?)

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
