He’s getting a reputation as a sensationalist.

I’m surprised he hasn’t got North Melbourne and Brisbane in his top 4.

Most of the new boys (ex footballers) on the block seem to be taking this route. It's how you get noticed and sometimes it works wonders for your career to be the one that people love to hate.

Looking for a headline.

We allow too many teams to score long runs of goals against us to finish in top spot.

Would require many of our youngsters to establish themselves as stars. Don't believe we are there yet.

Cant see this happening, however if we come close the post game match day threads will involve consuming a lot of bath water.

And Joe boy will still cane Dom in the three word analysis, which will give me comfort that the earth is still spinning in the right direction.

If his comments were for the ladder after the Bye he may be on the money.

Our draw means we should be 10-2 when we turn for the second half of the season, with my money on us finishing with 16 wins +/- 3 wins, so Cornesy could have pulled a smokey.

Shut up, Kane. Haha.

Rohan Connelly's prediction is the sweet spot. Top 4. That should be our aspiration. Finishing top of the ladder is too much pressure.

Kane is trying to take pressure off Port.

Would love to see it happen, but we have a long way to go before that becomes a reality.

Injuries permitting, we're top 4 this year.

We have a really well balanced list with depth.

From a top 4 position in September, anything can happen. It's all about momentum.

Good onya Kane. Possibly a sensationalist prediction but I'm happy to wear that - it's infinitely better than reading that we'll finish 9th, or last, as has been the case in virtually every other season in living memory.

You would not believe how good life was when the Demons were on top and were unshakeable. Those were wonderful living memories.

Spinning? I read some ground breaking scientific paper a few days ago that the earth is flat after all these years

Yep. Apart from the birth of my children my most cherished memories are of seeing the 56, 57, 60 and 64 flags. I went home very unhappy in 58.

Oh to once again go to the footy expecting to win and rarely being disappointed.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
