Never understood those who hope for the the oppo sides best players to be playing against us. Daft.

I just want to get the 4 points, and while I believe we can win the game against a full strength Cats, any star player out makes a win more likely.

Hoping Danger/Ablett and Selwood are all missing that day. Wont be celebrating any less if they are.

This exactly!

When all is said and done, we can only play the team they field. It’s swings and roundabouts as there’ll be times when we will be missing a star player or two, so we should be happy when it’s in our favour.

I don’t celebrate the player’s injury, but I do celebrate the fact we have one less match-up to consider.

He’s so cringeworthy.

I hope the doctor that does the scans informs him that he’s not funny.

and he looks as fit as he's ever been

however, if we can choke the midfield supply and force him to work up away from the goal line and outside their f50, i'm confident we can restrict his influence

o mac is super fit, and lever and hibberd read the play better than just about anyone in our side to offer defensive coverage, so - as always - it'll come down to the mids, particularly those at the contested coalface, which is where we have an advantage with danger missing

Add Gawn in dropping back in the hole as well.

I bet he was chasing Mark Stevens. Not the other way around.

I saw it earlier. You can be a great footballer as well as a total [censored]. He and Gazza will be going head to head on that one.

I recently perused Big Footy and came across the below thread, the OP asks posters which Round 1 game (not including their own teams) they’re most interested in. Reading the posts so far, our game vs Geelong is looking to be the most popular.

https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/order-the-round-1-games-as-to-how-they-interest-you.1188108/page-2

That was refreshing.  People actually expressing opinions instead of just ripping into each other like on every Facebook post you read lately.

Ablett hasn’t even joined in full training yet hopes to by Friday, that leaves him no time I would be very surprised if he lines up round 1

Wasn't there a DL poster a little while back who was an employee down at g-long? (It could have been you for my totally destroyed brain cells @brendanor it could have even been on the days of 'ology) Surely whoever it was would have the story of where the little man is at in his prep.

Someone needs to remind  Wankerfield that Adelaide became an even better team with him gone.

I am tipping a few crow players were glad to see the back of Patrick, regardless of his football skills

No need to get distracted on either them or us losing a player (or two).

our worst 6 on the park next Sunday will be significantly better than their worst 6, as long as we kick straight we’ve got this.

Sounds more and more like Ablett is playing.

Apparently it was a minor hammy and the 21 day recovery time would've well and truly expired by round 1.

And as if they're going to have Ablett running around in the magoos if he's not injured.

A gentle little bump or two during the game might help Ablett to realise he made a bad decision. Are the pussycats desperate?

I bow to your superior footy knowledge Redleg, but I will say I was looking forward to Jack Viney sitting Ablett on his bum inside the first minute. Oh well, looks like OIiver or Jones will get the privilege now ...

Think it will harder to do that now, as he plays outside like I said and is not in the packs.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
