Quite surprised considering all the trade chatter.

Well done to him and the club.  He's shown a lot of potential in what is still a very young career.

Obviously the club see a lot more in him than does Moonshadow.

I am happy for him and believe that he can refine his play - his speed is an enormous asset.  Could he play wing?

(When headless chook is mentioned I always think about the one who didn't play this year despite being listed, and has thankfully now slipped off into book writing, filmmaking and probably staring at himself in a big mirror anguishing about how poorly he has been treated in life, especially considering his self proclaimed and self acclaimed aristocratic status.)

PS I wonder if this may suggest that Lever may not be as locked in at MFC as some believe?

This is good news. Interesting comments by him, regarding him being frustrated that his form had dipped at the wrong time and he wasn't able to pull it round sufficiently in the 2s in time for the final rounds.

I wonder if this means that, if we acquire Lever, TMac will be permanently forward?

I certainly see upside to Frost - at his best, his intercept work is great and his sprint out of defence is at times exhilarating!

Well done young man.

I thought his loss of form, plus Hunts seemingly lack of impact running were a couple of reasons we seemed to lose momentum late in the season.  Not sure if stats back up my perception of Hunt but that's how it seemed to me. It was more than just those guys losing impact, but their late season form contributed in some way I think.

The thought crossed my mind also, he might be wicked at it.:P

Sam has some qualities that many others don't - size, speed and strength all in one package

He is unquestionably a work in progress but if he can refine his decision making, spoiling  and delivery he would be a valuable player.

These are not easy to do - but significant upside if he could - worth a chance I think

Lets hope so. One Mac down back is more than enough, and TMac going forward would solve another immediate recruitment need.

I'm delighted Sam has re-signed.

...I'm just wondering if he is really fast after the first 5 metres.  I recall him being run down HTB quite a few times...Not knocking him just checking perceptions.

His re-signing certainly ensures a lot of competition for spots in the back half!

If Jake joins us next year he will make a great depth player. Glad he has signed on.

ferkin good, now club can trade him if they want.

Huh? Not sure you understand the trade system. 90% of trades happen when players are out of contract. Much harder to trade players under contract.

He's very good when running at speed and in a straight line, when he stops and props he seems a bit unsure of himself.

I remember a few of his turnovers late in the year came from trying to switch back into the corridor(maybe due to instruction).

A player like Frost needs to be let off the leash sometimes and play on instinct.

Really? "All the trade chatter" on here.....

He has the athletic attributes to be a pillar of flag winning side. Consistency to intensity and an ongoing focus on foot skills are his keys.

Kudos Dees and Frosty!

Not saying I wanted him traded, just thought where there's smoke...

Very happy to have Frosty.

Perhaps we need an "irony" marker.

Well if we get lever that blows pd's theory we cant have macs x 2, frost and lever at the club.

Or have we pulled out of the Lever race?

His best is terrific. Sill heart in mouth with ball in hand. Needs to be smarter about leaving his man but can see why the coaches tell him to back himself.

Hopefully can iron out some of the deficiencies....

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
