That's all I needed to hear. That's it. close the door. Focus on the progress we did make this year, in what was a challenging year. We had some horrible luck this year and created some equally horrible luck for ourselves. We are all hurting. They are hurting. We don't need apologies....are we all three years old and can't move on unless we hear "sorry" .

i think I'm in the 3 year old bracket you talk about. Don't want vanilla statements using MFC media. Simon, Peter, and Misson-in-games needed to have fronted together and called out some clear areas where they have failed and leave the detail for a review later (which we know won't see the light of day). Some early calls by the playing group about coming back early to training, missing mad monday blah blah blah

can I just suggest that players learn to tackle and do it properly, with intent. Grab the opponent and pin their arms.  I'm a simple soul and not a football guru, but this is what I'd like to see addressed.

It's a bit hard to show off your tackling prowess if you can't lay a tackle in the first place

Jones: It's a pretty bitter pill to swallow

Jones: The players are hurting as much as our supporters are livid

Jones: The mood has been very flat. Yesterday was out of our control due to our performance on Saturday

Blah Blah Blah....

still feel sick.

Why is Jones hung out to dry alone? The first person I thought of Sunday night was Jones who deserved more from his team mates. Viney and the coach should have been there.

A lot of people disappointed with the clubs email about finals.

However, it said in the email, that priority period tickets were available to members at 9am-1pm on Tuesday 29th, leaving only Monday for the email to be sent and viewed by supporters if we made finals. I think as a supporter group we would be a lot more disappointed if we didn't receive this email with a few days notice, and miss out on tickets to finals. That's how I feel about it anyway.

and not that anyone will find it palatable but Essendon just went from LAST with 3 wins to 7th and finals. Yes..I know..THAT club...but  their lightning resurrection and rise...is a ....FACT

Anything MFC comes up with is will be all but laughable in that context. Best they say nothing imho.

Nonsensical comparison considering who they had out last year.

All the supporters want to know is that they're hurting as much as we are...

Speak for yourself. Wallowing in self-pity isn't really my thing, but more to the point, achieves nothing.

As a some of the more even-keeled posters have pointed out already, what we want/need is a systematic, methodical review of the whole season (not just one game), where, why and how we came up short, and what we're going to do to address it. This from the players through the medical/conditioning staff and boot-studders to the coaches, FD and Board.

Which I'm sure is happening. As it would have in any case.

i know you are hurting like us all but are you saying over the past 11 years you have been more optimistic than now?  we almost folded a few years back!

No, its more white hot anger. I think Jones said supporters are livid in his orchestrated presser controlled nicely by the MFC. It was probably the only thing he said that resonated with me out of all the motherhood statements he made.

The equation below should give you some indication about why this game and the back end of this season have upset so many:

'Livid' index =  Odds of winning (high) x Reward for winning (high) x Lack of Intensity (high)

Like i said before bit hard to lay a tackle when you a ten steps away from your man. It's also like no one stands in the forward arch any more or the back line, this needs to change if you want to win games. This rubbish of running down from the back line to the forward line is killing us we just don't know how the hell to do it right.

Also why the hell do they always kick to the right after a point, why not down the centre?

And here is the problem - it is not about learning to tackle. In our middle part of the year when we were on a roll we were close to the top of the pops for pressure acts and our tackling was exemplary.

Saturday's tackling  was not a lack of knowledge - it was a lack of desire and application.

Just as gutted & angry as all members are but.....

what difference is it going to make if all the players & coaches were there? The captain has fronted up to take blame ect  Strobg  clubs will make the changes to their lists & keep it internal ..I'm sure Goody will be methodical & make those changes needed to improve...

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
