Been out biggest issue over the last 6 weeks. We seem to kick long to a contest too often, which makes it hard to score freely. The saints would love if we did the same again.

Bring Hannan in, get him and Trac rotating between high-half forward and deep leading forward and that will give us a new look inside 50. Hannan had a great game earlier this year doing exactly that. I'd bring him in for Pedo and get Watts or TMac rucking again. If that's too short then Harmes given a week off and Weid brought in as well.

In: Hannan and maybe Weid

Out: Pedo and maybe Harmes

It's the Age I reckon, a young team that's being told to play on and attack will revert to bombing long if they don't see a really obvious option open up, it's why we look fantastic at times and awful and predictable others.

With experience we will get better at knowing when to go and when to hold it up.

The reason I think we will play the saints is 1. Their form has been awful they have only fallen over the line vs the eagles in the last four weeks.

They have roo out of the game as well as joey both normally destroy us.

Good on them dropping Salem. I hope he is made to work for his next shot. Play with some desperation or I don't want to see him again. Also, what is JKH - chopped liver? He didn't even deserve to be dropped, yet was, and went on to rack up 40 possessions (as he always does). I can only assume he kicked to the opposition all day on the weekend, or that he is missing a leg. WTF is everybody sleeping on this kid? Kennedy-Harris is no joke, and he would buy and sell Angus Brayshaw (who is a turn over merchant with no awareness, and completely unproven at AFL level). Dear MFC, we are vying for finals football, FU and your f'up selection mistakes.

Salem was injured during the last game and was on crutches after the match.

Good.

Show some heart, and desire for the pill or dont bother to put the jumper on.

Love his skills, detest his softness.

Has Frost been dropped because he put off contract talks? Or simply considered to be under performing?

Performance based. Hasn't had a kick in weeks, been exposed by opp bigs and lost his rebounding out of defence. Only saved (like watts up until now by lack of second string bigs in form). Pedo gets a chance to show what he can do in defence now, that's how bad he was playing

Brown for the saints in defence will struggle for a match up with our small to medium forwards, given Carlisle will have his work cut out with TMac.

And with Reiwoldt out we shouldn't get exposed down back. Can't remember Reiwoldt ever having a bad game against us. Massive out

Glad we are making a statement. Time to stand up and make this season worth while. Super disappointed in Frost and Watts in the last 3 weeks. Salem obviously isn't delivering to instructions.

Good to see Goodwin push this side to be better.

Im in the camo that thinks watts will be left out. But Im really mixed on it and looks to be carrying an injury for mine.  He hasnt looked like himself at all since injured. As outsiders we dont really know what players try  to play through and the sacrifices they make. All we have to go by is what we see on game day which is ultimately all that matters. On that criteria,  I dont think we can carry him in the state he's in....but for mine he's a big loss. He's one of our match winners and we're a weaker side without an inform / free moving Jack.

I am all for players playing through pain if it doesn't effect the team, if he is injured at the moment it is effecting the team, don't play him.  He is not a match winner playing the way he has since returning.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
