Pretty sure a lot of the North Members are going to be in the Ricky Ponting stand, so hopefully you'll be alright.

Don't worry about the ferals, worry about the weather, it's going to be cold and rainy so rug up. If the wind comes across the Derwent it's nasty! :)

Yep,  I'm  heading down Friday to make a weekend of it. Looking forward to it. Haven't bought tix yet.  Probably just getting GA I reckon!

My Hobart rumour is that it sold out a week ago, best you check out GA availability before hitting the skies.

I landed last night. Had an interesting flight with the Pres of the Glenorchymagpies and one of Jimmy's Hobart Dees supporting Irish mates.

Now all I'm hoping for is a win on Saturday and no localised Gnasher penalty points !

Making a long weekend of it.

I think the seats I got are in the Ponting Stand, but I'm not convinced the Roos would ever pull a big crowd of keen supporters there, least of all at the end of a very disappointing bottom 4 season against a rampaging top 4 chance.

And if I end up in the middle of them, my god are they going to hear about it.

All of the interstate tickets are for the half dozen seats on the hill side. It's GA and near the boozer so pretty good spot. There was a reasonable dees presence on the hill last year. Norf fans in the Ricky Ponting stand mainly from memory.

Folks

couple of things for those coming down.

For those with Melbourne members tickets- you will be behind the point post at the Southern end of the ground.

There are free ferries departing from the Casino to  Bellerive - 6 minute walk to the ground. Free buses will depart from the city to Belerieve - walk 2 minutes to the ground.

If you have hired a car - good luck parking is no great around the ground - follow the signs to the allocated parking areas- walk up to 10 minutes to the ground,

The Wagon and Horses pub located  in North Hobart publican is a Melbourne member and rusted on fanatic. He is offering free beer prior to the start of the game until the first goal is kicked,

Article in the Hobart Mercury

BRENDON Garland is digging deep to prove his love for the mighty Dees.

The licensee of North Hobart’s Waggon and Horses and the younger brother of veteran Melbourne defender Colin is shouting the drinks on Saturday until the first goal is kicked between the Demons and North Melbourne across the river at Blundstone Arena.

“And anyone who brings a [match] ticket back after the game gets a free drink on entry

See you at the game - Go D's.

There was free tickets to be had through some AFL Multicultural Round promo. Grabbed a couple of extras the other week, then got an e-mail yesterday telling me these free tickets come with a Norf members cap. Like I will be getting that!!

North have a decent following down here, plus a lot of the neutral supporters support north because they are the 'home' side and have a decent presence in Hobart. We love our footy down here so a lot of neutrals go to games just because it's afl being played in Hobart. Ben Brown is Tasmanian so the locals love him. Typically my dees are playing in my home town and I have to bloody work.

Last year the Melbourne members area behind the point post in he southern stand was a great spot to sit, plenty of Melbourne supporters (obviously) and a great atmosphere.

My recommendation or clothing (in order of putting it on) would be thermal, t-shirt, windcheater, jacket, raincoat, then your Melbourne jumper over the top of your raincoat. Although it won't be as bad as the richmond vs north game here on a Friday night in June last year. Whoever scheduled that needed a kick up the backside. That was as cold as a game of football gets. I'm talking cold eyeballs cold. If you can get your hands on a Tasmanian tuxedo (puffer jacket), then do it! Might be reasonable at the beginning of a game but come full time it will be very cold.

Shame about the forecast rain, I reckon that will bring the two teams closer together.

Hope all the travellers have a good time down here and go dees!

Tix still available but GA is 29 plus 8 ticket delivery/ handling etc... Pretty steep for GA !

I'm a local, and will not be missing this for the world!

Being a deprived AFL fanatic, I go to every Hobart game and can say North have established a pretty good following (unfortunately) here. The biggest noises come from the Ricky Ponting Stand FWIW.

The atmosphere for a Demons fan was great at the hill area last year too.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
