This was bound to happen. Just share the gate takings as they do for ANZAC Day.

Like others, I'm comfortable with this, so long as our fixturing is reasonable and fair from a financial and playing perspective ....... and definitely none of the 'garbage' we were forced to endure a few weeks ago.  It's great that we are becoming a respected Club again.  We can now stand on our own two feet, and no longer need or deserve Collingwood's 'charity' thank you very much!

How about if we let them wear their home-strip as a concession, and we'll come up with something that doesn't clash?

I see what you did there :)

I have no issue with alternating tbh.

I will be concerned if it all doesn't check and balance out elsewhere.

Time to let Eddie know he's not in charge though.Welcome to your very mediocre future collingwood.

Wouldn't surprise me if the AFL engineered a resurgence somehow like they have with Essendon.
Can't have a prized cash cow loitering at the lower end of the ladder.

Collingwood are petrified that we are becoming a powerhouse, while they have no direction, a D grade coach and a poor list.

This is what they should do but they alternate who is the home club (and therefore who gets the gate)  for the ANZAC clash rather than share gate takings.

I am struggling to think of a more beautiful thing bb.

perhaps beating the Crows in the GF by 1 point after the sire. Oh hang on GC is not organising that.

Pies want to be home side and alternate every year with us, personally I don't mind as long as it's alternate years to our Anzac eve game so we have at least 1 as a home game

No problem. Schedule them every year at Skilled and Blundstone with 5 day breaks after interstate games and 4 games in 18 days with maximum 3 Friday Nights.  All's fair in fixturing.

Since the AFL will still schedule Collingwood to play Essendon, Carlton and Richmond twice a year, they will still get plenty of money coming in. And now they want more!

What do WE get out of this....losing our biggest income game every 2nd year.

Only if we host ANZAC eve the same year that Collingwood would host QB. Not having them both be replacement games

It's funny..  I married into a family full of these filth. I will cede though they are reasonable measured and coherent and strangely have own teeth ( well except for .....)  but a a Melbourne supporter I endured no end of jokes and ribbing.

We had intended to go as a bit of a group to the QB game but events conspired to prevent that . We now have take TWO to occur for the last H/A game.   For some incalculable reason the numbers are dropping off !!

Only a couple of stalwarts ( i.e those that could make up an excuse quick enough ) are still coming along.

Nothing quieter than a Pie during a bad season..Even the Toiges...you can hear them zapping their cards !!

Eddie has enough issues to deal with.

There is a remarkable amount of jealousy of our whole organisation at the moment.

I suggest we give them the Darwin game and allow a more relevant team such as Richmond or Carlton into QB.

Lamumba would make more sense than Ed and should replace him as President.

Lamumba ???  You mean " The Prince, he who is gifted and who will have the last laugh" ????   Yes , I'm sure he will make more sense than just about anyone ............ not

Well, this is where Jackson earns his coin I reckon.  "So you want 'X' ? "   "What do we get ?"

Is this what it feels like to stand on our own two feet? Don't get me wrong, we still have a long way to go but we're heading in the right direction. 45 - 50 thousand members next year, 3 + Friday night games and a solid share of Saturday afternoon fixtures and we should be recording our fifth straight profit and be close to eradicating our debt. It's almost like this was all part of Jackson's plan.

I'm all for being fair and sharing the home game. I also think it's a good idea to stagger home games with Anzac Day eve. Our DL'ers are clearly more switched on than the AFL when it comes to fixturing....

Additionally, I remember reading on the QB 2017 thread (after the game - when the pies moaning on this topic  started) that despite the fact it is our home game, Collingwood still got the proceeds of the Ponsford Stand contingent.

If we are truly being fair, then we should get the Ponsford Stand takings when it's their home game in future.

So we play Colonwood as our home game every second year, OK, then we choose to play Essendon or Carlton every other QB. Colonwood can have QB eve against Gold Coast in Darwin. Fixed, thanks Eddie.

A note to this...How much effort did the filth put  into building this up to the marquee game it is ?

SFA !!

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
