I will be checking my insurance policies to see if this mob is somehow in the fine print.

And if they are and the scumbag does not apologize to Oliver and to the club I will certainly review my options.

WTF would anyone bring up their employment in this context?  Shows just how little cerebral higher functions this guy actually possesses. Which in turn makes one concerned that he may be making important decisions re my insurance.

He didn't bring up his employer, I did after a little google search.

And he doesnt drive an SS it's a Vespa to go with his full wall for of Madonna memorabilia (you can't make this [censored] up) I checked his Facebook and he changes the modonna cover photo every two weeks.

That's funny, my recollection is that Adam Goodes was widely vilified for his actions  and booed all game every game afterwards.

Goodes was perhaps criticised because of the age of the girl involved. His action was lauded by most though. He wasn't widely vilified for that action but for other things he did on the football field.

As for the topic...

If oliver said " you touch me again and I'll [censored] kill you", which is the accusation, then fair enough. He wasn't reacting to the taunt rather being physically touched by a fan.

100% agree.

The logical conclusion here is for the AFL to investigate and then warn the fan, and all fans, not to touch players.

End of story.

That Carlton supporter was having a lot of trouble keeping the smile off his face after getting a reaction. He'll be dining out on this for years.  MFC should ask Carlton to discipline him but they won't because, in case no one has noticed, Carlton & their supporters are incredible AH's.

Oh, I did love Lewis, of all people, kicking the last goal after the siren. If only it was the winning goal.

If this moron touched Oliver he should be banned from attending AFL games for a long, long time. Nothing that happened afterwards is even remotely relevant.

How does Oliver know what that [censored] was carrying, or capable of doing to him?

The club needs to get on the front foot about this, and make the moron accountable for his actions.

Yes I agree That is outrageous Aquiro has effectively admitted assaulting Clayton Oliver, no matter how minor or incidental that is completely beyond acceptable behavior . If the AFL accepts this sort of thing what will they accepts accidental flares thrown onto the ground  and routine raids onto the pitch to bash players of opposing clubs. Fortunately until this incident the AFL has been free of this sort of thuggery.

Yeah nah.  The booing etc only started after the incident with the young girl.  Had it been for "other things" the booing would have been going on for years prior.

Having seen a picture of "Robert's" Facebook Page, he is clearly not well.

A room full of Madonna merchandise.

He just wants attention

SORT IT OUT Carlscum, and do not threaten players physically over the fence.

This guy is clearly a typical slimy Carlton fan dining out of his 15min of fame. He's probably done this sort of crap to 100s of other players hoping for a reaction and when one comes his way and he goes sooking.

That said, Clarry needs to keep a cooler head and watch what he says. Hell if he'd said, "don't ever f****** touch me again" then I'd say no troubles whatsoever. But to add on "I'll kill you" was hot blooded.

But as many have said, he's 19 years old!!!! He's copping so much crap because he's having such an amazing year for a youngster and done one thing, ONE THING that people perceived as soft. That fat [censored] should jump the fence and see how he'd go in the middle of AFL scrimmages. He's the weak one. A mouth (and face) like that I'm sure he's had a few clock him over the years.

It seems the club has apologised.  I doubt it would have if Clayton hadn't overstepped the mark in some way.  https://www.triplem.com.au/sport/afl/news/melbourne-football-club-apologise-to-carlton-blues-fan-over-clayton-oliver-verbal-altercation

There is a lot of abuse in the last few pages based on assumptions, the guy's appearance and his fb page.

Maybe we should wait for more info before people take their angst out against the club for apologising.

Lets just hope that counselling is the only thing that happens to Clarrie.

There's how the club publicly deals with the matter and how they privately deal with it.

Publicly, the club should be focusing entirely on why the fan stood up to reach over, touch Oliver and abuse him. Furthermore, they should be asking the MCC why he wasn't immediately removed from the stadium. Lewis' comments were poor and did not support Oliver at all.

Privately, they should be saying that yes what happened to you was wrong (see above) but you need to keep your outbursts to yourself because they don't actually help the situation.

This is the money shot, the man clearly reaches over to touch him, this should see him being banned from attending all AFL games.

His mate looks like he is trying to stop him touching Oliver and the women beside him looks like she is thinking u r a toss bag.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
