I wonder if he will cop criticism like clarry, greenwood went the bump his elbow hit him in shoulder then slid up, Merrett through his head back like he had been hit by a train

Difference is McKenzie was cleared for insufficient contact whereas Greenwood is looking at a couple of weeks no doubt.

Carlton and Collingwood both on 5 wins. We owe it to the league to ensure it stays that way. Must win tomorrow then get Watts and Tyson back vs Adelaide. Need to go into that game with 9 wins.

DemonOx - I do feel that way towards Howe, who sought a transfer to the Filth, to taste success.

Agree with doc roet - I feel for Dunny too.  Was always a tryer for us and never a show pony.  Just didn't / wouldn't / couldn't fit in to our new game plan.

I reckon posters who are calling for Walker to be suspended are only doing it because we play Adelaide next week.

He was shepherding, completely within the rules. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Essendon have a reasonable run home .....

6 games against teams outside the 8 and Adelaide

Meanwhile they lost to Brisbane last week.

Having said that, I'm concerned about their draw and they're only one win behind us if we lose tomorrow. They will be putting a lot more pressure on us for a top 8 spot than the Dogs, I reckon.

Hawthorn effectively lost but fixed their percentage...

But they can only drop one more and they have Geelong, Freo away, and Sydney in the next three weeks...

They beat Adelaide in Adelaide two weeks ago and drew with GWS today. With no Birchall, Frawley, Gibson, O'Meara, Puopolo, Rioli or Stratton either. IMO they're capable of doing it, though I think ultimately they'll fall short.

Sydney, Essendon and Hawthorn are all going to push the top 8 and if we drop tomorrow's game we are going to feel that pressure as much as any other top 8 club.

I think the plan should be to beat Carlton tomoz.

I thought his head snapped back after an elbow to the jaw. Different angle showed it better and less likely to be a dive. greenwood will be having a holiday.

GWS v Swans next week .... should be a big game

On at the same time as we are playing in Darwin

Ok... now for the big question the answer to which depends upon your degree of optimism re the Dees.....

Saints or Toiges

I'm hoping for the Saints ... I want that fourth spot !!

Really not sure who to barrack for... Go for the Saints & we win tomorrow & Port lose we could be 4th by rounds end. Saints win & we lose then west coast win we are out of the 8.. My god its tight, and tomorrow either way is a must must must win!

now that is a string of possibilities.

You just have to learn to think like a Hawk or Swan supporter... our natural place is on or near to the top of the ladder

Go Saints

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
