Trengove is done!

Lets place some serious footy nous here! No room for sentiment when  place in the 8 is now a real posibility!

lol

Yeah. I think if they have guys on the list, even ones who can only do one thing like Trenners, then they're there for a reason. We have that many inside ballwinners in the 22 now, there just isn't room for him. But if one or two of Oliver, Jones, Viney or Tyson were to miss or get hurt, Trenners would come under serious consideration. Hasn't put a foot wrong in the twos for half a season.

As it happens this week, subi is no place for his legs. But in subsequent weeks...

After he rewarded the QB mob with an unchanged side. We smash the premiers, doubling their score... and people think he'll make 4 changes.

Cheers, I'll be over in Newcastle for work this week, returning to Perth via Melbourne on Friday morning with Virgin. Probably a fair chance I'll be on the same plane.

IMO Gawn is the only in subject to fitness and the FD's plans to manage workloads through this 3-week patch of six-day breaks.

If there are no injuries and we're not resting anyone, I am not sure at all who would make way for Gawn. There's no chance it's Watts (subject to injury), whilst OMac, TMac and Pedersen are all playing more than well enough. That leaves Frost - if Kennedy doesn't come in, do we need all of Frost, OMac, TMac, Pedersen and Gawn? Do we become too tall?

Having said all this, I suspect someone will be either be injured (Jones/Watts/Hunt) or rested.

On pure form alone, if we have to drop someone it would be ANB or Vince, but I'm not sure that's going to happen.

Agree. Eagles are all big bodied mature types. The contested footy will be crucial... Priddis and Shuey usually tear us up.

We can beat them IF THE UMPS GIVE US A FAIR GO.

There's a chance Shuey will get suspended for a bump on Dangerfield.

Still, the point is valid and Sam Mitchell's in that midfield as well.

It's only natural after such a bitterly disappointing loss.

A few injury concerns and Goody said in his presser he wont risk anyone off the 6 day break to Perth

In  -      Gawn,  JKH

Out -    Watts (hammy), Jones (quad)

Would personally prefer to see Trengove in for Jones. Could be a like for like in and under type replacement.

There is so much depth on the list hard call, everyone is making too much of 6 day turn around, we have just had a bye, the 3 6 day are not so bad after a bye

This crossed my mind also, but then, slowest player on the biggest ground? Hm.

Slowest? The myth about his speed is ridiculous.

Why hasn't he been in the side for the last two seasons then? Pre-injury Trengove was a gun.

Non changes question.

How do I find out if there is an open training session in Perth? Just call the club?

Want to take my 3 yr old daughter along. She has red hair so a big Clarry fan.

BTW think it is harmes out Gawn in...barring forced changes

Changes only made on the basis of injury, soreness or fatigue. We need to keep a winning side intact as much as possible but not risk serious injury to players with soreness. For example if Watts has hammy soreness well for gods sake rest him. We will need a strong injury free list for the remainder of the season and finals time.

Jones and watts will both play, just taking no risks

If Jones has a quad strain, as reported then he will miss this week. Quads are pretty tricky & they won't risk it, he could miss 2 - 3.

Watts had a limp after the game, he would also be doubtful particularly with a long flight ahead. The way he was walking didn't look like just a bit of tightness.

...so, I guess I'm not as sure that both will play.

Doggies had 9 day break v our 6

guessing FD and medicos know more about managing breaks, flight scheduling and Subiaco than us.

Gawn comes in for Pedo (or to share with Cam) and so Pedo/Gawn presumably take a spot in the forward-line ahead of one of our fleet of mediums in Petracca, Harmes, Bugg or Hannan.

We all love how Hannan is developing, but get the feeling he'll be the one squeezed. Played every game in his first season. Take a breather.

Well yeah thats what I thought. Stick him in the exit row or put him up the front. Let him stretch out.

They can let him fly the plane as far as I'm concerned. Max plays!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
