What I didnt get was why Kent only got to play one game as opposed to 2 or 3. Aside from his form (which was at least a pass) in his one game why was he not afforded the chances that so many others have had?

He played two games. Laid one tackle both weeks.

Not looking good: "Hogan missed training on Thursday through illness and did not show up with teammates at Melbourne Airport today ahead of Saturday night's clash against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval".  (AFL website)

My heart sank reading that.

Grrrrrrr!  Will the NSC never leave our club!

Need to make do with what we have.

I think we'll be without him for a while

On the AFL site they just suggested Weideman would a good replacement for Hogan, as they are like for like.

Oh really!

not yet...only refers to a time....not the event !!

Indeed that is so bb but  I believe we still have enough time to get off said thin ice provided we get a favourable result in the next few events.

Do you have more info?

Not sure how to ask this delicately...is this part of the grieving process?  Understandable if it is.

Wish him well.

look on the bright side.... we could all look back on this match as the Weids break out match

it is hard to see many other positives out of the coming weekend

Didn't Weids do that (kicked 2, was it?) in our win against Hawthorn last year? And if superstition is to play a part, let's not forget that Hogan was absent for both of our biggest wins against all odds... Geelong at Skilled and then Hawthorn at the MCG.  Could this be the trifecta?

They're both over 190cm. Hence like for like.

If Hogan is out then I'd prefer Petracca to play at full forward and for either Stretch or ANB to come in.

Agree. We should play our next best player rather than like for like. Hannan may be able to play full forward or maybe OMac could be tried. I really would like to see Stretch play.

Weideman just needs to give us an option in attack and hopefully jag a couple of goals.  Let the mosquito fleet kick the majority of the goals and put on the pressure.

If Hogan is out we may as well go with Weeds. You don't draft a kid in the first round unless you rate them. He isn't kicking the door down but we need to get games into him if he is part of our future plans.

Not sure what the alternative is.

Still think we'll get the job done.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
