I'd challenge it. AFL has a systemic problem when love taps like that cops week and Rance gets the same for a blatant fist to the head. If that player didn't roll around like a [censored] it wouldn't have been brought up. I thought he hit Membrey. Report says Wright, is it a different incident ?

Challenge it.

The old 2 down to 1 strategy is just a security blanket for the people making the decision. It forces the player to suck it up even though the decision is unreasonable.

Idiot. Has a track record of this behaviour. I hope Goody tears him a new one. Just dumb.

Yep. Vince is playing like the coach is his mate at the moment. Needs a lesson sent. Better hope it doesn't cost his team mates.

Agreed. Varcoe was far more dangerous. He came in at top speed

Forget about challenging it, how about pulling up the bloke that has a issue of doing it time after time.

Pull your head in Bernie!

Players get sucked in by his antics and more often than not, it really does seem to throw them off their game.

This time he crossed the line. Didn't look like there was much in it, but sure... Cop the week, it is what it is.

Bernie needs to understand that there's a power of the badge vindictiveness that operates in this space ie he has trodden a very fine line on a number of occasions and quite possibly been given the benefit of the doubt.  The expectation is that he learns from it and curbs his tendencies.   Absent that, you have to expect this sort of outcome.  Because they can.

Just been released - 2 weeks for striking (intentional), low impact. Down to 1 week with an early plea

Casboult got a fine for rough conduct (careless), low impact.

Not sure how these muppets operate

Agree that it's stupid, and agree that he needs to be taught a lesson (and what better a week than when we have carlton???). But Geez the MRP has no idea, if they were consistent i wouldn't have a problem, but if consistency was tattooed on their foreheads they still wouldn't have any idea.

This concept of harmcaused being applicable to the punishment is stuffed.

Bernie gave the bloke a low impact bicep to the head. Potential for damage from bicep = [censored] all.

Varcoe runs through a guys jaw with his shoulder and gets the same. Varcoe could have knocked that guy into next week ffs

Will go for 2 but for an early plea will get one. He never seems to learn unfortunately, as he has done this before!

Cmon Bernie!!

Got it in one PF. People need to take their red and blue glasses off. If it happened to a Melbourne player, it would be described as a dog act. It was forearm to back of the head, behind play to an unsuspecting opponent. The fact that Membrey stayed down, didn't help Bernie's case. With  priors, he deserves what he got.

The club must challenge this. We wont be pushed around.

Absolutely shameful decision

Collected him in the back of the head. It was really stupid. If your going to get suspended Bernie you should at least make them pay for it.

Accept the 1 match suspension and move on.

In other news... Varcoe nearly [censored] killed someone. 1 week.

It wasn't a forearm... it was the bicep and if you started taking into account players who act hurt in order to get a free then half the comp will get suspended

So Varcoe should get 3....

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
