An absolute Gun, as long as we don't play him in the seniors to early.

Similar to Taylor Walker, let the Weid DOMINATE in the seconds before he plays Seniors...

Agree SWYL

I've been of the opinion for a while, that Weids is a player who, like Gawn, will look so/so until he has the proverbial breakout game and realises how good he can be.

He has already displayed very pleasing defensive skills for a tall forward. I would go as far as saying he has displayed more defensive nouse than Hogan.

If Pedo could pass on his mitts to Sam upon retirement, we would have quite a player on our hands.

finally some good signs but lets not get ahead of ourselves. still a long way to go, but looking brighter

Get excited.

Reminded me of Hogans 6 goal haul at VFL level.  A man among boys.  And Weid is half he size of Hogan at the same age.

What the highlight package may not show is that he delivered the ball into the fwd line with classy passing - as well as kicking goals

Its only one game of course

To put this into perspective - he turns 20 today...

His upside is absolutely huge.

Indeed...upside big.

Not always realised... here's hoping though.

On the back of that game I'd say his best is as good as Hogans at the same age .

Build his tank and frame but also keep getting senior games into him after performances like that .

Weid looks like hes stacked on a heap of weight since i last saw him in the AFL.

Still go a fair bit of strength to gain too. Imagine him with 2 more preseasons. Scary.

His game in the vfl on the weekend was more classic Matthew Lloyd than Tex Walker for mine - 15 possessions, 6 straight, and got double- and triple-teamed at times such was his dominance in the air

Has great skills at ground level too; will be a player

Wasn't his debut AFL game on Heatherley as well? That guy will be glad if he never sees him again.

Love the booming kicks.

What? The same Hogan who won the rising star in the AFL at the same age?

I didn't see the game and have only seen the highlights.

Loved his long kicking but realistically how many of those marks would he get at AFL level, he was able to run and jump at all the balls which would not be possible with a decent opponent. He needs to stay in the VFL for the rest of the year.

Looked (highlights only seen) more Walker than [censored], and didn't see one dive.

Def has the tools to become a great player, but let him develop properly and grow at Casey.

Isnt ready for AFL yet and most likely needs another year in the 2's

The floor is yours Weid...

Take it with both hands.

I'm trying to picture that and if he can do it I'll be impressed.

An Akermanis-style handstand, perhaps?

Rate this young fella and would say in the next few years may out do hogan.

Sam will be a 50-70 goals a year player with hogs taking a more proactive running role .

Big game tomorrow! Good luck to all and GWS paid is a favour last night smashing the dogs. Sammy to kick 3-4 and show the footy world what he can do.

Massive call. It'll be nice to see him find a permanent spot in the side and consistently deliver a couple of goals each week, first.

50-70 goals a season would put him in coleman medal contention alongside the likes of brown, daniher, kennedy jack riewoldt and buddy

would definitely take that!

i think he and hogan will become a very good key forward switch combo in years to come

Does anyone else getting the feeling that Hogan may want to be closer to his family after the year he's had? It's worth the convo and I wouldn't blame him. Does Weid get the full time gig if that were to happen or would be need to trade for another and who would you want? I now think at this stage of his second season Weid should be at least holding down a KPF spot by now too.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
