6 - N.Jones - some brain fades but was indefatigable and prolific

5 - Gawn - dynamic and dominant in the centre

4 - Frost - may have come of age.. a joy to watch coming out of defence

3 - Kent - aggressive , feisty and clever

2 - Watts - has been better this year but performed all over the field

1 - M.Jones - unfashionable but has improved significantly over the year

6. N Jones - Th next person who says this bloke isn't an A grade footballer needs to uppercut themselves immediately

5. Gawn - Star

4. Frost - Best of the back six. Finally starting to use his size and strength along with his speed

3. M Jones - Have to go close to his best game for the club. Didn't do a thing wrong all day that I can recall

2. Kent - A mixed bag but the good outweighed the bad. Very laconic at times, to put it kindly

1. Tyson - Lots of the ball, lots of tackles, lots of work rate, could've used it lots better

5 Matt Jones

4 Max the magnificent

3 Jack Watts

1 Billy Stretch/Petracca

Jack Viney got caught too many times trying to gat onto his left side . Good side will block him off too easy

We continually criticise tornoveres from the defence, but ignore the midfield turnovers whic leave us even more vulnerable

6 Gawn - Really tried to lift us and was noticeable when he was off because Watts was killed in ruck area.

5 N.Jones - Not always clean but kept working.

4 Frost - Great dash from the backline. Why did we all have to wait until Round 11 for him to be played as a defender.

3 T Mac - A couple of late kicking howlers spoiled what was a superb game - he wasn't Robinson Crusoe with the poor kicks though - hence no Vince or Viney this week.

2 Kent - Ran his heart out pressuring and if only Dawesy had figured out he was free early in last quarter.

1 Petracca - Great to see him really use his kicks well. He will be something - just not this year.

Apologies: Yes I did notice Matt Jones and had him in my top four Dees at half time. He faded in second half though. His best game yet for us though and there won't be any calls from me for his omission next week. Indeed it would be hard to find anyone worthy of the axe next week. We kick well and we win away by five goals.

Sorry I just realised I left out Tyson - who was our best player to half time. With more time he gets 3 from me and the others move down one.

Love it when it's difficult to limit the votes to 6 and pray for the days when this is a regular occurrence

6. N Jones -awesome captains display willed himself to win contests and was everywhere with his run on the outside

5. Gawny - went up against 2 ruckmen intent on jumping into him all day and a 3rd man up but won hands down and was influential around the ground

4. Kent - fantastic run and pressure acts all day. Used the ball really well and providing more than just dash at last

3. Frost - clear best defender on the ground who not only dominated with muscle and size but provided plenty of dash out of the backline

2. Viney -just hard at it all day ran himself into the ground to get on the end of kicks and handballs to provide a link up

1. Petracca - very clean in conditions which weren't helpful to this but his ball use was exceptional. Showed great strength and power

Apologies to Watts Matty Jones Tyson and Stretch

Watts and Stretch get in because every time they get the ball we get another possession.  The rest are self explanatory.  I'm surprised by the love for Kent.  Great last half but he touched it 4 times in the first half and in addition tried to mark a ball in the square that was going through. If he'd reversed his half's he wouldn't have got much recognition.

We desperately need him to get some consistency through games because he adds so much when he's on.  He never inspires confidence with the ball and misses what many get. To me he's a very frustrating player.

They did seem to have an influence, didn't they?

Less angry today but, yes, there's no doubt they did yesterday. We do need to take it out of the umpire's hands though.

If West Coast has a three goal advantage at home we need to be a four goal better side (Confucius)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
