"I was trying to keep it separate from him, because that’s his deal and mine is mine. But once mine was almost done, I was told Oscar’s was almost done as well and then I was told that it’d be nice to announce them together,” he said.

I knew it!

Great news. Now someone get Oscar twenty pies and five snot blocks. Looking at that picture, he couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding

and he looks a lot more than 2cm taller. wonder if he has put on a height spurt this year which has slowed him from filling out. looks a good 6cm in pic

According to Tom in the Burgs article, he never talked to any other clubs or assessed any other offers.

Can we please stop assuming that a long negotiation equals player leaving now? Not every player is Tom Scully.

Nasher - Who do you think your audience is? We are a paranoid bunch by definition, we hang out in a online chat room. BTW Happy about the signings

I'm not though; I generally assume things will work out if the actual machinations are invisible to me. Yes, Scully blindsided me as a result, but I still believe that was an exception rather than the rule.

Thank god that's out of the way. We've now locked away all our young talent! The only one left is making sure Hogan re-signs before the end of next year.

With less pressure on the back line as we get better we may see less brain fades from TMac and more of him doing what he does best and just shutting off opposition attacks.

a slightly tongue in cheek comment, however I do believe if pleading for common sense on this site worked there would not be a need for a filter option. More seriously, we are a destination club now, and I thank PJ for that and the recruiting team, year after year where they have been proved correct, our 2014/15 drafts demonstrating real insight, especially the use of the points system or whatever it is called.

Good news.  Both have been good the last few weeks. Hope they both don't have the post signing bad game this week.

How good has Jack W been since his contract extension.

It's hard to believe Tom is only 23. Still just a young man, but sometimes gets marked as a senior member of the team. His name really still belongs in the talented youth group, but he's acting as our back line General.

    THE CAVALRY ARRIVES by Megg

The injury plague which has beset the Demons 2024 campaign is finally starting to dissipate and with consecutive wins over GWS Giants and a 2-point nail-biter in Adelade, a sense of optimism is rising.  Some commentators are now asking whether the Dees can make finals? A huge surprise with team selection this week when it was announced that champs Olivia Purcell, Paxy Paxman and Eden Zanker would play.   Hallelujah!  The cavalry has arrived. St Kilda missed the finals last season on pe

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.
