Apparently Josh "Superman" Mahoney will be on SEN in the next 15 to 20 minutes.

I'm at dinner* so reports would be appreciated.

* I could listen in on my iPhone but knowing she who must be obeyed the thing might end up in my soup

Haha. I wonder if this thread will be as wild as the other one.

Go Josh (and the team you are a mouthpiece for which would include Viney and Taylor)! I never doubted you.

I just want him to be honest with us. (Followed by an eye roll)

Adding surety to what we get at 3 and then again with 7.

We should bring in two potential A grade players.

Really impressed with Tom - super competitive, great runner, midfield and down back. We think him coming in help our young group of guys.

We have a bit of work to do on who we pick; could be tall and a mid, two midfielders.

Fitzy - Hawthorn wanted to get the deal done, they wanted it done now so they gave us pick 94 so they could get them today instead of in the next 10 days.

Mahoney wants to go home and not worry tomorrow but thinks he'll get some calls about the picks.

And if those calls are compelling, we should deal! Someone else raised it on another thread I think, but would we entertain Essendons top 2 picks for ours?

I would if the bombers are hellbent on landing Parish

I don't get why, we can take the best midfielder and 1 KPP (hopefully Curnow).

It is clear that GC are looking a bit outside the box, if be thinking Milera but who knows.

Essendon will take Francis and one other so we will still have our pick! I think

It would appear that the footy dept achieved exactly ALL of its trading targets.

Turns out we played the 'academy draft points' game better than any other club.

Turns out we got all of our trade-in player targets at appropriately low cost.

Turns out we did manage to line up pick 3 to target the player we've obviously identified long ago, despite Howe being a [censored] goblin.

Turns out we could get ourselves a second top-10 pick (lucky 7, too!), and made sure we could pick up one of the multiple good tall forward options available.

Overall movement;

In - 3, 7, Kennedy, Bugg, Melksham

Out - 6, 25, [First rounder 2016], Howe, Toumpas

It's a nice move to trade forward a year, too. Gives the additional gun kid a year of being Roos-ed.

Who would have thought the word "hob" would be censored.

I don't know why he even comes out to say that. I get that it's a bargaining chip and he's just playing the game but at the same time, don't put yourself in a corner. At least say, "I would think 3 and 7 are untouchable" and then if asked if they would be traded for the right deal, "Well it would need to be a pretty special offer."

If Sydney offered us Kennedy for pick 3 and, say, Watts + 43, we'd have to take that.

Reckon Kennedy too old to waste pick 3 on, he's 27 with 3-4 good years left

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
