Those others either completely dropped off or were riddled with injuries. Toumpas was healthier, fitter and had his best season with us.

Or we could've just said we're keeping Toumpas and directly dealt with the Pies.

He did not want to stay at the Dees it is that simple.

Mahoney said that the trades " gives us the picks needed to facilitate further trades before Thursday’s trade deadline.” I assume that pick 50 is for Bugg. Maybe there will be something else in there? Don't know who else we are linked to though.

If so she's delusional (and/or doing the clubs PR work) and so are you for swallowing the tripe.

Prove her otherwise then. Quayle is generally spot on and doesn't just put out tripe like guys like Clark or Ralph. She is always on the money during these times of the year, so forgive me for doing so, but I'll take her word over yours.

From today's AFL trade wrap:

GWS' Tomas Bugg remains on track to join the Demons, with the club expected to use a third round pick for the 22-year-old, who has performed well in 65 games with the Giants.

I'd be happy with pick 50 for Bugg.

That's the point. Kennedy + pick 32 is pretty fair for Howe. Unless pick 50 brings us something better than Bugg, why the need to involve Port?

I don't think it's that simple. I'm sure he'd prefer playing in SA but I think Howe was less committed to the club and yet he played all 22 games in 2015. We should play hard ball with a pick 4 at such an early stage of his career no matter what his intentions are anyway

We involve Port to do the right thing by a player on our list we don't rate, who wants to go.

He's in talks with Carlton & St Kilda so not that entrenched.

That's good then. Apparently good mates with Dom Tyson too.

Not really, as of early last week we weren't even talking with him. Maybe something has changed since then.

i rate quayle but no one is always right. Tons of anecdotal backstory to suggest it was Wines not Kennedy. We know the rest

Not sure what the source of this tweet was, but it's interesting nonetheless if Port were offering us that a week ago and we demanded more yet we seemingly settled for less

Melbourne want more than Andrew Moore or Aaron Young or a second round pick from Port Adelaide for Jimmy Toumpas. #AFL #AFLTrade"

Well 50 is more than 29, is it not?

Can I make a suggestion to those that are livid, morose, suicidal, despondent or just a tad miffed.

It's not over. The whole trade/draft period must be seen as a whole.

Theres a start...and a finish...when draft picks used.

This years are only worth what you can get for your needs. They have no other value and each team will have a different value...just like currencies.

If Mahoney and co have a clear idea of what/who they want and can get it or near then THATS the yatdstick .

Its way too early to chuck hissies etc.

All things are relevant .

Its trash and treasure time

Chill...breathe...wait.

Just wait

Jimmy just tweeted.....

@JToumpas: I am so excited though to start fresh at the @PAFC! A club that is based around hard work. It's a journey I can't wait to begin!

The hard work comment?

Are we not based around it?

Concerning?

Anyone know what pick 6 & 29 equate to points wise?

6 = 1751 and 29 = 653 so 2404. 3 = 2234 and added to 49 which is worth 287 would be a fairly even trade.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
