He has kicked 6 goals in one AFL game, name the Demons who have done that?

He has 17 goals from his 16 games, yes no world beater, but does he beat Dawes and Pedo?

I think what we really need is a solid consistent performer(s) which he isn't.

Pedersen will be the man.

I don't get the reference to Lynch? He doesn't ruck, would have played a different role to what Daw would.

I'd rather us go for Daniel Gorringe for more ruck depth if that's why you want Daw. Can ruck, rest forward, unfulfilled talent and would also come cheap. But I'll back Viney & co in on their decision.

I like Pedo aswell. We can only assume he's a year to year proposition going off the one year extension.

It wasn't meant to be a comparison as such, just the realisation (the club and all of us on here are already aware) that we need another option up forward-fwd/ruck. We are struggling to attract our first option so at times we are settling for second best.

If we're only playing Dawes for big body/provide contest/bring ball to ground etc we might as well okay someone who can clunk the occasional mark.

I don't know enough about Gorringe to comment. But like you will trust the coaching panels decision. Going off last year and all the rumours circulating this year everyone will be getting looked at so that's a good thing.

Even Gawn's form wouldn't of got him a game ahead of Goldy this year.

30 goals from 17 matches in the VFL. A couple of bags and yes a couple of quiet games.

If you can be bothered there's some great clips on u-tube of him. His marking is a feature and can launch the footy when he gets on to it.

That, and hooking up with a team mates (Daniel Pratt) girlfriend.

I don't want to see us waiting out both Melksham's WADA suspension & Daw's jail time.

well you probably wouldn't have to, because he would be a rookie IMO.

as far as girlfriends are concerned, welcome to competative people who are also in elite money ranks, so you also end up with competitive girls, with many gold diggers. so playing around in footy clubs is way more common than you may think, AAC.

daw, you naughty naughty boy....

Watts - it takes years to grow into your body

Toumpas - he needs continuity

Fitzy - surprised he got delisted, he can play multiple roles

Dawes - big body, a foil for Hogan, provides a contest, brings the ball the ground

Sound familiar.

No I'm not comparing Daw to those players but those throw away lines all apply to him. From what I've read and watched on utube he's had some quiet games in the VFL and he's torn some apart. His most recent opportunity at the top he was more than capable. He's a better pack mark than most of our list. We could do worse than him as no.42 on the list, and we are.

The Sudanese were the best gladiators in the Roman days,as an aside.

North have put years into him, would be nice to just pluck him away and turn him into a player but I question his skills (from the few games I have seen him play for Werribee).

I think Daw falls into that "good idea but not quite"

Maybe the Mac effect would help. Who knows.

Don't care how the bloke can play, big no, same reason as Milne.

Doesn't pass the no DH's policy!

Also doesn't pass the absolutely hopeless footballer policy.

It's a new policy.

Maybe he should quit footy and take up athletics??

Just a thought

So if we are voting, Australia's Got Talent style ..... its a no from me

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
