  1. Can’t but think he’s made the right call. Farewell at our first home game I imagine
  2. I think it’s great if I was a young WA (or whatever) kid joining the Demons, and looked at how we cared for our potential Top 21 who in their late 20's had missed out through an everyman injury and bad luck, …. I would think … this is a good family, i can trust them, I'll stay with them And whats more, the guy can play
  3. That is a terrible decision He intended no harm, but he did not exercise due care. He should have known that jumping at a player running straight at him was very likely to result in that players serious injury. And he didn’t even smother the ball! The AFL has to appeal. It has to. If it wants to help its own defence against not doing enough to protect players from head injury, it must fight this. It must fight for the next payer running selflessly towards goal in the spirit of the game, as Brayshaw was. its not about whether it was a ‘dog act’ or a deliberate intent to harm, … it wasn’t. It’s about was it a tackle or smother that reasonably considered the well being of the other player. It was an excessively high risk move that could never have ended safely for Brayshaw I am very upset about this decision. It shows the decision makers are in a different world, a different time. Where is the AFL players association?
  4. Sam Frost Sorry, got my players mixed up, I mean Toby Greene!!!
  5. And his treatment back then was amputation across the mid foot! Thank heavens he isn’t our club doctor!
  6. I enjoyed that game In Binman I trust I can see what the coaches are doing. But even they must be surprised by how well the fwd line worked today PS I spent yesterday at a party with John Beckwith in the room. Not that he would have known I was there. I was too shy to give him a well done and a high five. He looked great. Ninety years and many more to come. Five winning grad finals, wow!!! Go Dees and thankyou to the podcast team. You help us understand what is going on Great win
  7. Exactly Geelong 21 Had the same emotion Amazing
  8. There is something Burgess is doing that should have him in the AFL Hall of Fame
  9. And if you go far enough back in time religious affiliation was a factor . Those links don’t bare repeating but I remember it was still a thing for some in the 60’s Irrelevant now of course
  10. Can I suggest that is the first time the words ‘bespoke tailor’ have been heard on Demonland? Great get as a sponsor. All we need now is RMWilliams and I’ll be fully clothed with a 20% discount!
  11. Dee-jà Vu, What’s the French for that?
  12. Great rundown of the game and where we are at. Thanks so much for the effort you put in lads. You are not taken for granted and the value you add to the supporter experience (that sounded awfully modern and BS!) is very much appreciated From all the Demonlanders who rarely post but often listen… thanks enormously.
  13. The Ryan decision is the error Hard to comprehend
  14. Love this move So we can’t chant Melbourne … Melbourne That’s fine we will have to do Narrmy Army…. Narrmy Army… !?
  15. Remember the cry of the anguished Demon supporters ….. across the wilderness years Hasn’t been heard for the last 3 or 4 years ‘Just KICK it!!!!’
  16. When we turn the ball over, watching the whole team run back to defend, while staying in formation, is a thing of beauty. Unbelievable discipline and fitness
  17. Pity poor Petty Petty better potter until Petty pretty better
  18. Can’t thank you enough for recommending this Podcast. Great interview and a great guy. The player we see over the fence, is of course 1% of the person. And we only need to see that 1% to enjoy the game, but it’s lovely when you have an insight as offered here. And no matter how errant be the kick, the handball or the decision…. I will NEVER boo this guy, ever!!! Make that never boo any one. My private list of exceptions will remain private!
  19. Terrible Deepest deepest sympathies to his family What can you say
  20. Sincere thanks for all the reports over the year and for what’s to come I’m sure from you all in 22. It’s a huge amount of work, and Picket and all the training correspondents I’m sure do feel a responsibility to file that report each week. Honestly, its greatly appreciated and thank you, and have a wonderfull break And sharpen your pencils and charge your camera batteries! Looking forward to next year
