WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOMAS BUGG

whatwhat say what

Recommended Posts

I am getting more convinced with each passing hour, that we are trying to do another deal with Bugg involved.

It is a simple deal for probably our pick 50, yet it is not being done and there appears no angst from anyone about it, nor is it being reported on.

We now have only 1.5 days left of the trade period and it doesn't make sense to me otherwise.

like what else? we should trade all our picks (besides 50 that goes for Bugg and our 5, 6th and 7th round) for 17. If we can, Grab some more talent for pick 17

The last pick in the draft that's worth any points is Pick 73 I think, worth 9 points. So Picks 29, 46 & 64 are the only ones we have worth anything given Pick 50 already seems to be allocated.

I wonder what role people expect Tomlinson to play for us. He is not quite a mid, forward, back or ruck. Has a tank but that is about it from what I have seen.

He played his best football down back. I'd play him as a key position defender and leave Frost or McDonald forward. That is if we took him.

I mentioned this in another thread but surely we are looking at another ruck man.....

Agree. In the games i have seen him play, he's done nothing to suggest that he will become a good AFL player, let alone a great/star player. Overrated (probably why Carlton are interested in him)

Playrers with a big tank will be very valuable now the sub rule is gone. Hes shown he can get the footy and cover a lot of ground at AFL level.. he averages a lot of marks and works hard.

Would be a very good link man between the arcs. Hes not a forward though, doesnt kick goals.

How naughty of you to make a non football quote Biffen. Please delete it immediately or I shall report you to the Snitch.

Not much footy on.

Bugg-er all to discuss.

Please take your childish invertebrate humour to the BS thread with all the other Stuie-like weirdos and perverts please.

Why don't you just tell them to bugg-er off?

Just looked at his highlights and he reminds me of a similar type to Viney. In fact all 3 of the players we are going to/have picked up seem to show ferocity at the pill. After all of the extremely negative talk on here about trade week I feel confident that the ins will add a bit of grunt to the team. Not big fish but man eaters never the less

Any link to those highlights?

FWIW re Tomlinson...

Carlton offering big money for 3 years I am hearing. He is to move in with Dom Tyson back in Melbourne. If we trade McCarthy then Tommo will be staying. If we keep McCarthy then Tommo will be gone with the other boys to Carlton (has to be a ripper trade though).

    TRAINING: Monday 11th November 2024

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. Looks like the leadership group is TMac, Viney Chandler and Petty. They look like they have sli

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. Once again the club’s top goal scorer but he had a few uncharacteristic flat spots during the season and the club will be looking for much better from him in 2025. After sustaining a torn ACL in the final match of the 2023 season Jake added a bit to the attack late in the 2024 season upon his return. He has re-signed on to the Demons for 1 more season in 2025. Date of Birth: 12 August 1991 Height: 186cm Games MFC 2024: 8 Career Total: 229 Goals MFC 2024: 8 Career Total: 188

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. 2024 Player Reviews: #39 Koltyn Tholstrop

The first round draft pick at #13 from twelve months ago the strongly built medium forward has had an impressive introduction to AFL football and is expected to spend more midfield moments as his career progresses. 2024 Player Reviews: #42 Daniel Turner

The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025.
