I'm in shock. We seriously won? Good Ol Melbourne always find a way to enrage me and then suck me back in.

We played man on man. We beat them man on man. We cracked in and ran harder then they did. Our leaders led. Our young guys showed they refuse to be tainted by years passed. Our NQR players played their role and kept their ball handling simple.

Still waiting for us to find a way to lose even though the game has been over for 30 minutes.

Just left simmonds for my first game of the year, went with my brother and uncle who are diehard Geelong fans. Was great fun to stand up in a crowd of blue and white as a Melbourne supporter for once. Smashed them in the middle, well done to Gawn, vince and jones on huge games and vineys effort on Selwood was first class. Well done boys, proud to be a Melbourne supporter!

the Brendan McCartney influence already seems profound, though hes not the only one of course.

Our kids look incredible.

But this win goes to the leaders who atoned for last weeks lat 40 seconds, and then some.

AND OH YEAH WE JUST SCORED 113 POINTS AT KARDINIA PARK AND BEAT GEELONG WITH NO HOGAN AND HALF OUR BEST 22 OUT

Let that sink in!! WOW!!!!

Our future sure looks bright with Gus Brayshaw and Jack Viney. Such a good win. Can't believe that the two rucks worked so well. This must be a tactic we use more often now surely? Worked an absolute treat.

What an awesome win.

Vince has had an amazing month of footy. What a star performance.

Well done to everyone for playing their part.

Massive love for Angus Brayshaw. Kid will be an absolute star.

To think we won with so many good players missing!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
