James is right of course. Sam Mitchell was naive and idiotic to make the jabbing motion on Saturday. Tisk tisk I guess that makes those Collingwood cheer squad members leaning over the fence and making the same gestures last year in the game against the Bummers naive and idiotic as well. The Collingwood cheer squad is a barometer and a reflection of society. Could they be wrong?

Not Mt Eliza my friend.

Browny on "On the Couch" just showed footage of Essendon, including Mr Morality himself with black arm bands around the upper forearm right where the drip would be inserted.

Browny said that was idiotic and pretty much Mr Morality should pull his drug peddling head right the fuuck in.

Why is everyone against what Mitchell did? EFC deserve everything they get. Serves them right. They rolled the dice and lost.

And its not like it isn't true. It's factual.

Sorry can you give a bit more detail? What footage? Was it from that year of the black ops?

no, it was in reference to the brisbane injection regime.

it was known at the time, and lloyd has just said he 'can't recall' about it on classified.

do they breed lying sociopaths in tullamarine?

Yup just caught it as I flicked past FC. Lloyd is not a good lier let alone talker.

But this made me laugh.

"League operations manager Mark Evans warned players not to repeat the supplement scandal sledge, saying they should consider their own reputations before making another similar gesture.

(Players) have to accept they are displaying themselves publicly and it will be a reflection on them and their clubs, Evans said.

Hes right.... we all love sam mitchell now

The AFL seem even more concerned about this small gesture than the fact an illegal, systematic drugs program occurred at the bloody club. Pathetic stuff as usual by the AFL.

Their desperate transparency in protecting ONE club for their abhorrent actions will ultimately be their undoing.

So in 2001 Essendon wore arm bands in the location that injections could have taken place and stated after the fact it was in protest to the opposition of the game in which they played but they didn't tell the opposition.

Sounds legit.

Wish I saw that

Hird is such a pathetic little hypocrite. He needs to [censored] off forever.

Well done Browny

There too many i's when it comes to the Hirdians.

I still prefer the y for why are you still here?

She may have 2 i s but certainly doesn't appear to have any eyes, or open ones anyway.

Its good to see some highly respected people (eg Mitchell, Brown) call Hird and the players out for the hypocrites they are.

I recall 14 of the other 17 coaches did not attend an AFL arranged dinner late last year to welcome Hird back.

No love lost with other clubs, clearly.

To top it off they keep losing!
This is sporting theatre at its best!!

I'm not against what Mitchell did. It is a well known fact that Essendon received penalties for governance issues (over injecting players).

I don't see how Mitchell should be looked upon a perpetrator here, he is merely pointing out that Essendon injected - which they did.

Sam Mitchell is an AFL footballer, he has the right to be a little bit annoyed that those around him have resorted to gaining an unfair advantage - through injections.

Mitchell should not have apologised, but in apologising he has saved himself a sh*t storm.

"AFL arranged"? To "welcome" Hird back??? Ye gods.

Well, any respect I had left for the AFL -- wait a sec. *checks to see if there are any dregs of respect left for the AFL -- finds there are none*

Carry on.

Mitchells apology was more along the lines of "kids shouldnt see that"

Not "i hope i didnt upset essendon"

Actually he didn't apologise from what I have seen. He regrets doing it and wouldn't do it again. Subtle difference but no apology unless I have missed something.

Re Mitchell: Nathan Buckley said on Fox 360 last nite "happened on the field, was based on fact, move on!"

He could have said that Mitchell was just "venting" cos he was cheated out of a Brownlow in 2012!

Can't imagine the pressure that'll be on us to beat the flogs if the Saints get over them next week. If we only get one more win for this year, I'd want it to be against the drug cheats.

Starting to enjoy Bucks on 360. He doesn't just waffle on with political mouthwash the way Roosy sometimes does; he calls a spade a spade.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
